Ben Affleck reveals new details about the cut Wonder Woman cameo in The Flash movie. While a new DC Universe is approaching, the DCEU still has a few stories left to tell. One of them is Barry Allen's adventure into the multiverse through The Flash. The Ezra Miller-starring film will reset the DC Universe, which will pave the way for James Gunn and Peter Safran's new plans for the franchise.

One of the key players in the movie is Affleck's Batman, who will be done with the character after The Flash. Affleck recently appeared on the Smartless Podcast, where he briefly spoke about The Flash. The DCEU star went on to talk about The Flash movie's cut Wonder Woman scene that Gadot shot last year. According to Affleck, it would have been a pivotal moment between Diana Prince and Bruce Wayne, sharing the following:

It's my best s--t I have done as Batman! I finally figured out how to play the guy! I know I quit but I got it now! Like you do the audition and you are on your way home, you are like 'No!' I don't want to give away any spoilers, but there was a scene where I get saved by Wonder Woman during a conflagration with some bad guys. She saves me with the Lasso of Truth, so what happens is that Batman divulges some of his real feelings about his life and his work. I was like 'Wait a minute; I got it!

Why Wonder Woman's Cameo Was Cut From The Flash Movie

Ezra Miller's The Flash and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman.

There have been multiple creative changes for The Flash movie both before and after principal photography. A key aspect is the number of removed cameos from the upcoming DCEU film. Gadot's Wonder Woman is one of them, as is Henry Cavill's Superman, as both stars filmed scenes for the film. However, with a new DC Universe approaching, their cameos have been taken out.

This is heavily related to recent developments with both of the actors' characters. Though Wonder Woman 3 was in development for years, Patty Jenkins' threequel was scrapped in late 2022, shortly after DC Studios launched. Cavill returned to the DCEU as Superman in Black Adam, with envisioned plans for Man of Steel 2. But, Cavill later announced his DC exit, with Gunn set to recast Superman. As such, their cameos were likely cut to reflect the reset of the DC Universe.

Since The Flash will reset the franchise, cutting cameos that won't lead to anything makes sense. However, that measn Shazam! Fury of the Gods will be Gadot's final outing as Wonder Woman unless Gunn brings her back. Time will tell how the DC Universe will look after The Flash film resets the franchise.
