Despite all of the trouble surrounding the project, Warner Bros. Discovery reportedly believes The Flash movie starring Ezra Miller is one of their best DC movies. It has been nearly a decade since WB originally announced plans for a solo movie centered around Miller's Barry Allen. After multiple directors joined and left and the movie missed multiple release dates, The Flash found its footing after Andy Muschietti became its director. The film has long enticed fans due to the promise that it would adapt one of the character's biggest comic storylines, Flashpoint, where Barry travels back in time to save his mother from dying but messes up the timeline.

Miller previously played Flash in Batman v Superman: Dawn of JusticeSuicide SquadJustice League, and Peacemaker, but The Flash will be his first solo adventure. Even though it is his movie, WB and DC made it an epic crossover film. This includes featuring Ben Affleck's Batman from the main DC Extended Universe timeline, while the multiverse story paves the way for Michael Keaton's Batman to return for the first since 1992's Batman Returns. Audiences will also see General Zod (Michael Shannon) return, the debut of Supergirl (Sasha Calle), multiple versions of Flash, and potentially even more DCEU characters.

The excitement many have for The Flash appears to be well-placed, as a new report claims Warner Bros. is very high on the movie. In a story from Variety about what WB is going to do with The Flash following Miller's repeated legal trouble and controversies, the outlet mentioned the studio's confidence that the film delivers. Specifically, it is said that Warner Bros. views The Flash as one of their best DC movies. This line doesn't limit the movie's quality to just the DCEU, meaning the studio could think of it as any DC movie they've ever made.

The Flash Movie Ezra Miller

The overall belief WB has in The Flash is quite a good sign for the film. The DCEU movies have produced a few big hits in terms of quality and success, such as Wonder Woman and The Suicide Squad. With the likes of Shazam! and Aquaman also viewed as well-received hits, The Flash potentially being better than any of these aforementioned films would be a big achievement for Muschietti and the rest of the cast and crew. There is even the possibility that Warner Bros. views the movie in a similar tier as Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight, Matt Reeves' The Batman, and Todd Phillips' Joker.

Ultimately, only time will tell whether or not The Flash is as good as Warner Bros. believes it to be. Muschietti's work on the It franchise makes the likelihood of him delivering another hit high. Even if it isn't perfect, The Flash's multiverse crossover possibilities that it is expected to include will likely be a point in the movie's favor. Major crossovers and multiverse stories are becoming even more popular, so The Flash could receive a very positive response when it releases next year if it delivers on that front.
