As the new year is about to ring in, new The Flash movie merchandise has been revealed teasing Michael Keaton's Batman return and the introduction of Supergirl. After years of being stuck in development hell, The Flash movie is closer to arriving in theaters, as Ezra Miller's Barry Allen continues his arc in the DC Universe (formerly known as the DCEU.) While it was initially set to release last month, Warner Bros. Discovery pushed The Flash back to summer 2023, partially due to post-production work that still needed to be completed. But nevertheless, The Flash will be a crucial chapter for the DCU as it gets involved with the multiverse. While no new trailer has been released since DC FanDome 2021, Warner Bros. has begun to roll out new marketing for The Flash movie. Thanks to Twitter users Ground Breaker and Nicholas Levi, new images have surfaced online of The Flash merchandise, which was shown at this year's CCXP event. Even though no new footage was shown at the convention, fresh merchandise was spotted for the DCU film featuring Miller's Scarlet Speedster, as well as Keaton's Batman and Sasha Calle's Supergirl. What The Flash Movie's New Merch Reveals

The Flash movie Ezra Miller

Even though the characters are only shown in silhouettes, it's the caption on The Flash movie T-shirt that gives away some intriguing details about the DCU movie and its characters. For starters, it re-establishes the notion that Miller is playing more than one version of the DC hero. The part "two idiot kids" refers to the two Barry doppelgangers, as it was confirmed through the first teaser trailer that there would be two iterations of The Flash in the movie. Exactly why Barry is being labeled "idiot" is unclear since the fastest man alive is traditionally recognized as one of the smartest characters in the entire DC canon. This might be a callout of The Flash movie highlighting Barry's attempt to go back in time.

The bigger takeaway from The Flash's new merchandise is the revelation about Keaton's Batman and Calle's Supergirl. While it had been confirmed that Keaton would reprise the role of his version of the Dark Knight, the aspect that he is a "retired vigilante" establishes that the movie will force him to get back in the Batsuit. It's unclear at this point how long this incarnation of Bruce Wayne has been retired as Batman, but The Flash movie will likely establish what he has been up to since the end of Batman Returns. The other twist that this reveals about the film is Supergirl being "a half-charged solar-powered alien." While The Flash won't be a direct Flashpoint adaptation, this is clearly drawing elements from the alternative Superman, who was being kept by the government.

The Flash trailer seemingly teases that Barry ends up saving Supergirl from some imprisonment, hence why she is at half her strength when the movie first introduces her. However, it wouldn't be shocking if by the end of the film, Supergirl would be fully charged after the final climax, as it would be weird to introduce a version of the Girl of Steel who would never be at 100 percent. Hopefully, some of the Batman and Supergirl plot points will be touched upon in the next trailer for The Flash, whenever Warner Bros. Discovery decides to release it.
