Following Ezra Miller's recent arrest in Hawaii, The Flash movie star's DCEU future is reportedly in jeopardy after Warner Bros. and DC Films held an emergency meeting. Miller was one of the DCEU's original actors that joined Warner Bros.' cinematic universe after they were cast as Barry Allen in October 2014. While a solo film was announced over eight years ago, The Flash faced multiple delays after being stuck in development hell. Miller has, however, shown up in other DC projects over the years including brief cameos in Suicide Squad and Batman v Superman.

While The Flash, which was directed by Andy Muschietti, finished principal photography last year, Warner Bros. had to push it back once more. Rather than arriving in November 2022, the studio delayed it to June 2023 as the special effects on the film are finished. Now, Warner Bros. and DC Films are facing a different problem. Miller was recently arrested in Hilo, Hawaii, due to disorderly conduct and harassment. Not long after, additional reports surfaced about a couple who filed a restraining order against the DCEU actor. Miller had reportedly broken into their apartment and threatened to kill them while also stealing personal belongings.

After these incidents, it appears that Miller's future within the DCEU may be about to change. In a report from Rolling Stone, their sources revealed that Warner Bros. and DC Films had an emergency meeting on March 30 to discuss Miller's future in the DCEU. Due to the actor's arrest, Warner Bros. is reportedly hitting pause on any future appearances by the actor in the DCEU. This involves any cameos and development on a potential sequel to The Flash, a decision that doesn't have to be made for at least a year, according to the article.

UPDATE: IGN is reporting that a source within Warner Bros. has refuted Rolling Stone's report, saying "no such emergency meeting took place," and the claims are an "exaggeration."

Neither Miller, their representatives, nor Warner Bros. has made any public statements since the arrest came to light. Outside of The Flash and the DCEU properties, Miller is also attached to the Fantastic Beasts franchise as Credence Barebone/Aurelius Dumbledore. Prior to the Hilo arrest, Miller had been confronted by local police after being denied entrance to another bar due to them getting kicked out from an establishment on the same street. Following the release of the video of the confrontation, Miller walked away with a trespass warning.

This isn't the first scandal to have hit Miller in recent years. Back in April 2020, a video made its way online where Miller was seen choking a young woman in Reykjavik, Iceland. Miller was never arrested as the woman didn't press any charges after the actor was escorted off the bar's premises. Warner Bros. never made any comments about the controversy, but following the latest news, the studio is seemingly looking to take some sort of action. Since The Flash movie is over a year away, only time will tell what Warner Bros. and DC Films will do about Miller and the Scarlet Speedster's DCEU future.
