Warner Bros.' upcoming The Flash movie, starring Ezra Miller as Barry Allen, is reportedly doing well with audience members at test screenings. One of the DCEU films that has taken nearly a decade to happen is The Flash, which was first announced as part of the original Justice League slate in October 2014. When Miller was cast as the DCEU's Scarlet Speedster, The Flash movie was originally set to arrive in 2018, while their version of Barry got set up in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League. However, The Flash got stuck in development hell, with several directors and writers boarding and exiting the project over the years.

After almost eight years, the movie from director Andy Muschietti is finally getting closer to hitting theaters. The Flash, which finished production last Fall, will follow Barry as he goes back in time trying to save his mother, Nora Allen, from being killed. However, this course of action will take Barry into the DC multiverse, which is how Michael Keaton's Batman enters the DCEU. Keaton's Dark Knight will not be the only Batman in The Flash film, as Ben Affleck is also reprising his Caped Crusader from the DCEU.

The Flash was initially set to arrive in theaters this November, but WB had to delay it until June 2023. While The Flash is one year away from finally being released, it appears Warner Bros. has already been hosting test screenings. According to Variety, the cut of The Flash being previewed has been "extraordinary well received," though no further details were revealed about these The Flash movie early reactions.

The Flash Movie Ezra Miller

Despite the delays, Warner Bros. has been maintaining secrecy surrounding The Flash due to its multiversal nature, which is reportedly going to be a game-changer for the DCEU. After appearing in The Flash, Keaton's Bruce Wayne will be appearing in the upcoming Batgirl movie, starring Leslie Grace as Barbara Gordon. Man of Steel's Michael Shannon is also set to reprise his role as General Zod in some capacity. In addition to having two Dark Knights, the movie is introducing another popular hero into the DCEU. In 2021, Sasha Calle was cast as Supergirl in The Flash and will play a crucial role in the Muschietti-directed picture.

Even though The Flash movie may be doing well in test screenings, there is still public concern about the film's leading star, as Miller has gotten themselves into a lot of legal trouble lately. Despite the 29-year-old actor having been arrested multiple times in Hawaii, WB is reportedly not looking to replace Miller as the DCEU's Flash. Since The Flash, which was an expensive production, has already finished filming, WB is opting out of a reshoot with another actor as the fastest man alive. Whether or not Miller will appear as the Flash in future DCEU projects remains to be seen. For now, The Flash movie is on track for its June 2023 release date.
