Over the course of its first two seasons -- ever since Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) was struck by a blast of dark matter from the particle accelerator explosion -- The Flash has featured a number of speedsters aside from the show's titular hero. However, between Reverse-Flash, Zoom, and the one-off villain Trajectory, the majority of these speedsters were antagonists to Barry. That seemed to be changing when season 2 of The Flash introduced Harrison Wells' (Tom Cavanagh) daughter Jesse (Violett Beane) and Joe West's biological son Wally (Keiynan Lonsdale) -- adaptations of speedsters from the comics -- especially when both characters were hit by dark matter in season 2.
Now, thanks to Flashpoint, Wally suited up as Kid Flash in the alternate timeline of the season 3 premiere, while the most recent episode revealed Jesse had developed speedster powers during her time spent on Earth-2. Although Harry resisted the idea of Jesse becoming a hero throughout 'Magenta', he accepted her new powers and gifted her with a super-suit, setting the stage for Jesse Quick to make her official superhero debut in next week's episode.
In new photos released by The CW of the next episode of The Flash, 'The New Rogues', Jesse Quick's full costume is revealed. The suit appears to be a mix between the design of Jesse Quick's New 52 character from the DC Comics and The Flash's signature style for its speedsters. Take a look:
Prior to these photos, fans got to see glimpses of the Jesse Quick costume from a brief look in 'Magenta' of the suit as Harrison gave it to Jesse, as well as in the trailer for 'The New Rogues'. The upcoming episode of The Flash will feature Jesse fully suited up and working alongside Barry Allen. However, with Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) back in town, and a new metahuman foe in Sam Scudder aka Mirror Master (Grey Damon), Jesse and Barry will have their work cut out for them.
Of course, for those fans hoping that the Jesse Quick costume would feature more color in order to fall in line with the comic book version of the character, The Flash seems to have gone a more somber route. That said, the Jesse Quick costume is undoubtedly in keeping with the other speedster suits on The Flash (and many of the costumes in The CW's DC TV universe), though she does keep the face mask from the comics. Still, fans will have to wait for the next episode of The Flash before truly seeing Jesse Quick in action as a fully suited up superhero.
The Flash season 3 continues next Tuesday with ‘The New Rogues’ at 8PM on the CW.
