Warning! Spoilers ahead for The Flash #771!

DC has introduced a new "speedster planet" that could explain some mysteries about the Flash of the future, Jess Chambers. Jess was first introduced in DC's Very Merry Multiverse as a non-binary speedster from Earth-11. In their next appearance, they became the future Flash as they joined the Justice League in Future State. Although there hasn't been an enormous number of issues following Jess, readers have been told a fair bit. It's clear that they are from the future and are from an alternate version of Earth. After Future State ended, it was teased that Jess will eventually be joining DC's main timeline, which is still yet to happen. Readers still haven't been told when exactly they are from in the future. Therefore, it's possible that the future that Wally goes to in The Flash #771 could be one where Jess is already a part of Wally West's Flash Family.

In The Flash #771 by Jeremy Adams and Kevin Maguire, Wally West's daughter Irey takes him into space. Ahead of them, a planet with a lightning bolt going around it can be seen. The issue teases that this "speedster planet" could be the future Flash Family's base of operations. As Irey somehow runs with Wally across the expanse of space, she tells him that the Flash Family has done well for themselves in the future. It's clear that a new generation of speedsters, including Irey and her brother Jai, has developed beyond what the modern Flashes have achieved. And with Jess Chambers being another speedster from the future, it's very likely that both Irey and Jess are teammates.

There is a reason for The Flash teasing the speedster planet. It's implied that it will play a big part in future Flash stories. In the issue, Wally doesn't make it to the planet, but Irey says "You'll find out" just before Wally disappears, which is an enormous hint that the so-called speedster planet will return at some point in the near future. The way that it's introduced is all very mysterious. The issue doesn't explain what is on the planet as it's only shown from a distance. With Jess Chambers playing a big part in DC's future, it's entirely possible that they could reside on the planet, alongside the future Flash Family.

Jess Chambers will have a huge part to play in defining what's to come next for the Flash legacy. But will their future be on this new planet, rather than Earth? What the future holds for Earth remains to be seen, but as shown in this issue, it still exists. To go to the so-called speedster planet, Irey West forms a portal that leads them into space. More likely than not, the speedster planet will be in an uncharted solar system that the Flash Family inhabits. Going through a portal rather than running through the multiverse would suggest that it's not another version of Earth.

While most of DC's plans for the Flash's future remain a mystery, it's obvious that their new speedsters will see a rise in prominence. It's been made clear that Jess knows of the other Flashes, but has yet to meet them. Jess Chambers will be crossing over sometime soon as they make their first main continuity appearance since their debut in DC's Very Merry Multiverse. It's an exciting time to be a Flash fan as so much is happening with all the variations of the Scarlet Speedster and it seems that everything will align soon! The Flash #771 is available in comic book stores and on digital platforms now.
