Fan-favorite villain Gorilla Grodd returned to The Flash this week, as Barry (Grant Gustin) and his friends journeyed back to Earth-2 to save their friend Harrison "Harry" Wells (Tom Cavanagh). Wells had been kidnapped and was held in Gorilla City, where Barry had to fight Solovar to earn the team's freedom. Being a villain, Grodd double-crossed them, but the team got out and returned to Earth-1 in the end, and all is well with the world... Except that Grodd has also got his paws on Gypsy (Jessica Camacho), and is planning on using her to invade Central City.

This brings us to next week's episode, 'Attack On Central City'. The second ape-themed episode promises to bring Grodd and his army back to Earth-1, and a new poster teases the upcoming showdown between Grodd and Barry.

David Sobolov, the voice of Grodd on the show, tweeted the poster earlier today, with the caption, "@CW_TheFlash Check out the GREAT graphic for next weeks' episode!!!" The poster shows Barry and Grodd's faces in close up, staring each other down with the city in the background. The tagline reads, "May Grodd Have Mercy."

The Flash - Attack on Central City Poster - Gorilla Grodd

The poster echoes the feel of the promo for next week's episode, which focuses heavily on Team Flash's attempts to stop Grodd from getting his gorillas to the city. It looks like Grodd will be coming along with his army, and that the Central City police force will be teaming up with the Flash in order to try to keep them contained, and stop them from taking over. Caitlin Frost (Danielle Panabaker) doesn't appear in either the promo or the poster, but she is tagged in the tweet, suggesting that there is going to be an interesting storyline for her this week. This would make sense, as Caitlin has something of a history with Grodd already.

It's fantastic to see Grodd back in town, and we're especially thrilled about the entire army of gorillas that he has brought with him. Seeing Team Flash work directly with the police force is also going to be a real treat - the CCPD has taken a little bit of a back seat this season, and it's nice to see that they are not being entirely forgotten about. We're also anticipating some great speedster scenes as Kid Flash (Keiynan Lonsdale), Jesse Quick (Violett Beane) and The Flash fight side by side. Adding in Caitlin's potential influence on the villain, we've got an absolutely huge episode ahead of us.

Of course, this poster doesn't tell us anything that the promo didn't - we've known for some time that Grodd would be coming back to Central City, and after the ending of this week's episode, there was little doubt that he would be bringing an army with him. However, the artwork is fantastic, and we can't wait to see what 'Attack On Central City' brings.
