A synopsis for an upcoming episode of The Flash confirms the return of Violett Beane's Jesse Quick and John Wesley Shipp's Jay Garrick. The two will team up with the Flash (Grant Gustin) to stop a nuclear explosion.
In the last episode of The Flash, Barry Allen was finally cleared of the charges made against him. Barry was accused of murdering the Thinker, and all the evidence was stacked against him. He was put in prison and would have stayed there if it wasn't for Ralph Dibney (Hartley Sawyer), who fooled the court by shapeshifting into the Thinker, making it appear that he was never murdered at all. Barry is now a free man, while his enemy is now in the body of the female metahuman, Hazard (Sugar Lyn Beard).

The CW has released the synopsis for "Enter Flashtime", the 15th episode of season 4. In the episode, a nuclear bomb will detonate in Central City. To save the city, Barry will have help from Jay Garrick and Jesse Quick. Together, the three speedsters will have to enter Flashtime, a state where they move so fast that everything else seems to stop. The episode is set to air on March 6.
JESSE QUICK AND JAY GARRICK TEAM UP WITH THE FLASH — When a nuclear bomb detonates in downtown Central City, Barry (Grant Gustin), Jesse Quick (guest star Violett Beane) and Jay Garrick (guest star John Wesley Shipp) slow down time by entering Flashtime. As everyone in the city is frozen, the three speedsters push themselves to the breaking point to save the city and everyone in it. Gregory Smith directed the episode written by Todd Helbing & Sterling Gates.
Jay Garrick hasn't appeared on The Flash since he was freed from the Speed Force in the season 3 finale. Following Savitar's defeat, Jay returned to Earth-3. Jesse Quick was last seen in the show in the third episode of this season, "Luck be a Lady", when she dumped Wally West (Keiynan Lonsdale) with a break-up cube that was delivered by Harry (Tom Cavanagh). Jesse elected to remain on Earth-2 where she had formed her own crime-fighting team. Her return to the series has been rumored since it was revealed that Beane was back in Vancouver, the same location where The Flash is filmed.
Fans got their first glimpse of Flashtime in "The Trial of the Flash" when Iris (Candice Patton) tried to tell the court that Barry Allen is the Flash. Barry stopped time so that he could talk Iris out of revealing his secret identity. Since it appears that "Enter Flashtime" will fully explore this concept, it will be interesting to see how the series handles an episode where most of the cast is frozen in place.
Season 4 of The Flash continues with "Subject 9" on Tuesday, February 27 at 8pm ET on The CW.
