Fans of The Flash have seen Barry Allen join forces with almost every imaginable ally and rival, but even he has his limits. Or, his most devoted enemies do. But with his powers out of control (along with his young speedster partners') and a common enemy, The Flash #85 sees Barry finally forge an alliancve with his infamous Rogues. But how long can it last? And how much can readers trust them?

After weeks of The Speed Force spinning out of control, and risking being completely destroyed, things seemed to stabilize when the Reverse-Flash died a hero to return the forces to some kind of balance. But almost immediately, Barry ran straight into the larger Villain of the Year storline, in which Lex Luthor endowed DC's villains with extra power... in exchange for their help in destroying the world. For a man like Captain--sorry, make that King Cold, it's power he's dreamed of. But for the rest of the Rogues, the world is better off as it is. And as the old saying goes, 'the enemy of my enemy is my friend.'

With the Rogue Glider's plane-anchored bandages the only thing capable of calming them, the heroes and villains made a deal. Together, they would help the speedsters master their abilities, so long as they worked to make Captain Cold see reason once again. And in the official preview courtesy of MultiversityComics, the agreement actually does seem to be playing out on the level. For now, anwyay...

There is no telling how long it will take Barry, Wally, or Avery to regain the same level of mastery over their powers, or if that is even possible. The same goes for their chances of taking on King Cold, with more power, determination, and status to lose then ever before. Hopefully the team can keep the momentum going when the full issue arrives.
