Elliot Page fans want the Umbrella Academy star to replace Ezra Miller as The Flash in the DCEU, following the latter's multiple legal troubles and controversial behavior. The DCEU's Flash movie has been in the works for years, and was put into development back in 2014. Miller was then cast as its Scarlet Speedster. While Miller made their debut as Barry Allen in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice before starring in Justice League, their solo film has spent a significant amount of time in development limbo. However, once director Andy Muschetti boarded the project, The Flash finally went into principal photography, which wrapped in late 2021.

While The Flash release date was pushed back from November 2022 to June 2023, the DCEU project has made headlines this year due to its leading star's numerous controversies. In late March 2022, Miller was arrested in Hawaii, which was just one of several legal troubles to follow the 29-year-old star. Over the last couple of months, the actor was charged numerous times, including for alleged physical altercations, second-degree assault, disorderly conduct, and harassment. After grooming accusations surfaced, Miller has since stepped out of the public eye entirely. In light of Miller's many arrests and behavior, some fans have taken to social media asking Warner Bros. to remove the actor and recast The Flash for the DCEU.

Now, a new candidate has been added to the list for Miller's replacement in the minds of fans. Page, who is a star of the Netflix hit series The Umbrella Academy, has been fan-cast by many on social media. Several users have taken to Twitter to showing their support for the 35-year-old actor to be cast as the DCEU's new Flash. Check out some of the tweets below.

Despite these many supportive tweets, Page is just one of a handful of actors that have been suggested to take over from Miller as The Flash. Another popular choice has been Grant Gustin, who has played the Scarlet Speedster in the Arrowverse on The Flash for over eight years. Given the Multiverse angle that the DCEU is pushing for with the return of both Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton's Batman in the 2023 movie, Gustin's casting wouldn't be impossible, but it is unlikely. Despite the studio's silence on the matter, Warner Bros. is reportedly not replacing Miller with a new actor in The Flash, as to reshoot the entire film would be too costly at this point. While Miller's future with the studio after The Flash is reportedly over, Warner Bros. is also not looking at dropping the movie's theatrical release in favor of an HBO Max run.

While Page would certainly be a strong choice for the role of Barry Allen, it's unclear if The Flash has a future within the DCEU after the solo film releases in 2023. Should the reports be true that Warner Bros. will cut ties with Miller after The Flash, only time will tell if Barry will be a primary player in the franchise moving forward. The studio may either recast Barry or choose to focus on a different speedster over The Flash, such as Wally West. With The Flash movie now less than a year away from release, it remains to be seen what Warner Bros. will ultimately do about the Miller situation.
