Warning! Spoilers for The Flash: The Fastest Man Alive by DC Comics below

In a new comic, The Flash is teaming up with Batman as Ezra Miller's DCEU speedster's adventures will continue in a three-issue series serving as a prelude to the character's upcoming film. On Thursday, DC Comics revealed The Flash (2022) will be getting a prelude comic starring Miller's flash training alongside Batman and fighting a new threat, the villain Girder.

Ezra Miller first played Barry Allen in Zack Snyder's Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice in the DCEU, with the speedster's origin condensed in the later Justice League team-up film. However, the movie kept the most common elements of Barry's origin, including the hero becoming a forensic scientist to prove his falsely imprisoned father innocent of his mother's murder, gaining powers after being struck by lightning, and his ensuing connection to the Speed Force. Like most of the Justice League heroes, Miller's Flash received considerable more screentime and character development in Zack Snyder's Justice League as opposed to Joss Whedon's original re-edit. Ahead of his Flashpoint-based film, the hero is teaming up with Batman in a new prelude comic.

On Thursday, DC Comics announced a three-issue monthly series titled The Flash: The Fastest Man Alive by Kenny Porter, which will feature Ezra Miller's Flash seeking out Batman for training advice on how to master his powers. In addition, the Flash will look to Batman for help against the villain Girder, who is wreaking havoc on Central City. The comic will be canon to the DCEU and serves as a prelude for Andy Muschietti's The Flash (2022). The 48-page debut issue features art from Ricardo Lopez. Issue two will feature art from Juan Ferreyra, while Jason Howard will draw the third and final issue. The main cover (seen below) by Max Fiumara features Flash and Batman together, while Muschietti will also provide a variant cover for The Flash: The Fastest Man Alive #1.

It seems Ben Affleck's Batman will be assisting and training Barry Allen, although the press release from DC Comics doesn't mention the actor by name but does say it's Miller's version of The Flash.

It's exciting to see the DCEU and DC Comics work together in telling a story that exists in both universes simultaneously. Hopefully, this is the start of other preludes and stories set in the film's universe coming to the comics. The Flash: The Fastest Man Alive will continue Ezra Miller's Flash story just before his 2022 feature film comes to theaters in November. Readers can pick up the canon The Flash miniseries when issue one arrives in comic book stores on April 26, 2022.
