Ezra Miller's The Flash tries to save his mother in a new DC movie trailer promoting Barry Allen's solo film from director Andy Muschietti. One of the films that got announced as part of DCEU's massive movie slate is The Flash. Back in October 2014, Miller got revealed to be starring as the titular hero in the movie. However, it has taken more than five years for the film to come to fruition. With all the behind-the-scenes changes for the DC movies, The Flash got stuck in development hell. But at last, the Scarlet Speedster is finally getting his due as The Flash is set to open in theaters this November.

The Flash movie will not be doing an origin story, but instead, jump into a giant multiverse storyline that is loosely based on Flashpoint. As Barry tries to save his mother from being killed during his childhood, the fastest man alive instead gets sucked into another universe. That is how Michael Keaton's Bruce Wayne gets involved, with the actor reprising the role for the first time in 20 years after starring in Tim Burton's Batman and Batman Returns. The Flash is also set to introduce the cinematic version of Supergirl, as Sasha Calle will bring the Girl of Steel to the big screen.

With a packed DC movie slate for 2022, Warner Bros. released a brand new preview which also promoted The Batman, Black Adam, and Aquaman 2. The teaser also provided a closer look at The Flash as Miller's character tries to rescue his mother Nora Allen, played by Maribel Verdú. Check out the new trailer below:

It has so far not been clarified how much Nora will be in The Flash movie, although her fate is likely going to be a gloomy one given her role in the comics. What could potentially be happening in The Flash is seeing Nora from the alternative universe that Barry gets stuck in. Since Miller is confirmed to play another iteration of Barry, perhaps that doppelganger still has his mother alive compared to the main DCEU version. Only time will tell how many scenes Verdú will have throughout the story and just how tragic things will get for Nora by the film's end.

It's expected that there will be at least one full trailer coming sometime between now and fall as The Flash gets closer to getting released. What future trailer(s) will most likely focus more on will be Calle's Supergirl, who is so far one of the biggest mysteries. Despite being referred to as Supergirl, it hasn't been clarified if this is Kara Zor-El or if the DCEU will be doing a new take on the Girl of Steel. The next trailer will probably also highlight both Keaton and Ben Affleck's respective versions of Batman, with the latter having done voice-overs and seen from the back once. With less than ten months to go, it will be exciting to see what The Flash movie has in store for the future of the DCEU.
