The upcoming Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach DLC Ruin could follow one of the survival horror game's best endings. While previous entries usually saw players sit stationary in a security office and activate doors to fend off bloodthirsty animatronics, the series' latest installment lets players actually move around in first-person. Freely exploring Freddy Fazbear's Mega Pizzaplex, the player must avoid bloodthirsty animatronics through their wit and the help of ally Glamrock Freddy. The FNAF: Security Breach DLC Ruin is set for a 2023 release, and the expansion will hopefully build upon the game's most interesting ending.

[Warning: The following article contains spoilers for FNAF: Security Breach.]

There are several different endings to Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach, each one being unlocked depending on the player's actions. Choosing to leave the Pizzaplex early through an alley unlocks an ending where protagonist Gregory is stalked and presumably killed, while another ending lets Gregory and Glamrock Freddy escape through the mall's loading dock. Another potential ending sees Gregory and Freddy burn down the Pizzaplex using flammable plush toys. Other endings see the Pizzaplex closed for health reasons following the destruction of Freddy, or let Gregory escape with Freddy's still-living head. All FNAF: Security Breach endings are interesting, and each has distinct lore implications, but one ending in particular is especially intriguing.

While there are several possible endings, the "Burntrap" ending to Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach is considered canon and is arguably the most compelling. This ending sees Gregory and Freddy explore deep into the underground ruins of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place, which leads to a confrontation with Fazbear Entertainment co-founder and ghostly fiend William Afton. The ensuing struggle leads to the ruins burning down around Gregory and Freddy, though they manage to narrowly escape the inferno while the rest of the evil animatronics burn.

FNAF: Security Breach DLC Can Follow The Burntrap Ending

FNAF Security Breach DLC Announced

The FNAF: Security Breach DLC Ruin can follow up the game's destructive Burntrap ending. The title of the expansion, and its key art of a destroyed Freddy Fazbear, suggests that it will take place in the ruins of the Pizzaplex or Pizza Place. The Burntrap ending leaves the fate of William Afton unclear, which could let him return as a villain, and he could be joined by terrifying melted versions of recognizable animatronics. Gregory and Glamrock Freddy are also left alive in this ending, which could open the door for a return in the DLC. Alternately, the FNaF: Security Breach DLC could serve as a follow-up to the game's "To The Rooftop" ending, which sees Freddy die before the Mega Pizzaplex is destroyed by a fire triggered by flammable plush toys.

Details about the DLC for FNaF: Security Breach are currently scarce, but educated guesses about its story can be made based on the expansion's title. A follow-up to the game's Burntrap ending has the most potential, since it could let players explore a destroyed Megaplex and face off against half-melted versions of its animatronics. This ending could also open the door for Gregory and Freddy to return, which opens up many narrative possibilities for the ongoing Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach story.
