Five Nights at Freddy's is coming to the Playstation 5. The trailer for Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach debuted during Sony's recent PlayStation Showcase. This game is the follow up to 2019's Five Nights at Freddy's: Help Wanted VR and will be the eighth entry in the series. While its debut trailer was only a teaser, there are some hints to decipher. The trailer might not show much, but thankfully, there's seven games and eight FNAF books full of lore that can be used to make sense of it.

FNAF creator, Scott Cawthon, had released teaser images on his personal website prior to this trailer that help provide details about the game. The first image he shared showed the silhouette of Glamrock-looking Fazzbear animatronic animals preforming a concert in a shopping mall. The mall is multiple stories and features a Freddy Fazzbear's Pizza, a laser tag arena, and an arcade. It seems players will be making their way through the entire mall, as the laser tag arena was shown among other areas in the trailer. Another teaser photo shared by Cawthon featured a lone silhoutte of Glamrock Freddy preforming in the mall, much like the previous teaser except that, in the second image, what looks to be an animatronic rabbit can be faintly seen watching Freddy through the glass ceiling. This rabbit is likely the villain of Security Breach.

In FNAF: Help Wanted VR, it was revealed that the long-running antagonist of the series, William Afton, had been digitally revived after being burned to death in Freddy Fazzbear's Pizza Simulator. It turns out his soul was infused into the animatronic chips in the Fazzbear suit he was wearing at the time of his fiery death. The chips were then used to create the Help Wanted game, so Afton had secretly been living inside of the game as Glitchtrap, an animatronic rabbit. Through hidden tapes scattered throughout Five Nights at Freddy's: Help Wanted, it's revealed that Glitchtrap is capable of brainwashing humans through the game as he was able to drive one of the game's testers to suicide. It seems Glitchtrap may actually be using his brainwashing abilities to build a following for himself.

Teaser Images Key To Understanding FNAF Security Breach Trailer

Five Nights At Freddys: Security Breach

Help Wanted VR's Curse of Dread Bear DLC features a hidden easter egg in the game's corn maze. If a player manages to collect all four keys hidden in the maze, a fifth key will appear that's glitching out. After collecting the fifth key, Five Nights at Freddy's players will return to the barn that is usually fun and Halloween-themed, but it is now deserted and derelict. All that's there is a white rabbit mask with red eyes sitting in the middle in the middle of a park bench table. When the player puts the mask on, their heavy breathing begins to slow and they seem to reach a sense of calm. After this, the white rabbit mask will appear in the prize room. When the player picks up the mask and the stuffed Glitchtrap rabbit at the same time, a woman's voice begins to speak. She has a one-sided conversation with someone who seems to be giving her orders. The last thing the voice says is, "Don't worry, I'll be ready. I won't let you down. It will be fun."

It seems the woman's voice is speaking to Glitchtrap, who is telling her what to do. There's no telling what Glitchtrap is up to, but whatever, "fun" they're planning will likely take place in Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach. The white, red-eyed rabbit mask matches perfectly with the face that jumps out at the end of the trailer. The woman's voice in Curse of Dread Bear also matches the voice in the trailer that was calling for Gregory in the trailer. It seems pretty clear this woman is the red-eyed rabbit from the trailer and she will be enacting Glitchtrap's will in Security Breach.

The only questions now are, who is Gregory? Who was the gravelly voiced person he was with? And, why is the red-eyed rabbit chasing them? Fans will just have to wait until more trailers for FNAF: Security Breach are released later this year to find out more.
