The creators of Fire Force and NieR are teaming up to create a brand-new original anime named Kamierabi: GOD.app! This new anime's announcement was accompanied by a short video teaser for the anime and an official poster, showing off the unique art style and giving viewers a taste of what they can expect from the new series. The promotional video was posted to the anime’s new official Kamierabi Twitter account on March 22nd and racked up thousands of views within hours as fans of both NieR and Fire Force flocked to see the teaser and share their excitement. While there isn’t much known about the series and the tweet only gave a vague release date of October, the collaboration is already causing excitement as fans speculate about how the story might play out with two such iconic creators working on it.

Fire Force's Atsushi Ohkubo & NieR's Yoko Taro Collab for GOD.app!

Atsushi Ohkubo is one of those iconic creators. Known for being the creator of the best-selling manga series Fire Force and Soul Eater, Ohkubo has been part of the anime and manga scene for years and his art has become immediately recognizable. Fans of his work might have noticed a bit of his signature style in the characters with spiky teeth, but the style of this teaser is different from his previous work. Kamierabi’s art is unique because the anime will be using CG animation instead of a traditional animation style. Because not much about the story has been released yet, fans will have to wait and see if this series has Ohkubo's signature crude humor mixed in with the action, or if the series will take a more somber and serious turn.

The other iconic creator, Yoko Taro, is best known for his work as the writer for the NieR anime series. Despite NieR: Automata's anime having multiple delays, both the game and its adaptation have garnered critical acclaim and have given Taro his reputation as an incredible storyteller. With Taro in charge of the story for Kamierabi, it's no surprise that fans are excited for its release. The teaser didn't reveal much, but the focus on phones in the poster and later in the teaser point toward another technology-filled story from Taro.

As for the teaser itself, the story starts off innocently, with soft music playing as students interact in their high school. However, the music slowly glitches out until it stops altogether, then is replaced by an ominous, growing sound as if a machine is sucking in air. This sound plays over images of one of the characters running, then covered in blood. While this video doesn't have any voice acting, the setting and tone of the story are conveyed just through the music and the images of the characters. Despite the peaceful lull in the beginning, Kamierabi is shaping up to possibly be an action thriller anime. Fans will have to wait until more information is released from the official account to see for sure.

Other than the main contributors, the staff, including voice actors, have not been revealed. Still, this series has already been added to the list of most anticipated anime accouchements this year. It will be interesting to see how the two very different creators come together to tell this story, and if it works well, this could lead to more collaboration projects in the future. Kamierabi: GOD.app is definitely an anime that fans of NieR and Fire Force will want to keep their eyes on!
