Similar to Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes of 2022, Fire Emblem Engage allows players to use various physical amiibo figures they own to unlock special in-game rewards for free. amiibo related to the Fire Emblem franchise can grant exclusive cosmetic Outfits that can be equipped and worn throughout the story. These particular figurines also unlock songs that long-time lovers of the series will recognize. However, Fire Emblem-themed amiibo are not the only compatible figures players can use in Fire Emblem Engage. The game supports other amiibo, which can be used to claim practical in-game items, including consumables that have beneficial status effects for units or valuable refining materials like ingots.

New players eager to obtain their amiibo rewards in Fire Emblem Engage will need to be patient before they receive their digital goods. The reason is that the mechanic of redeeming amiibo rewards only becomes available once Chapter 5: Retaking the Castle has been cleared, after which Alear will gain access to a location known as the "amiibo Gazebo."

As its name implies, Chapter 5 involves fighting enemies in Firene Castle and requires players to have a Base Level of 4. Defeating Nelucce will result in the mission's victory.

Unlocking & Using the amiibo Gazebo in Fire Emblem Engage

Alear Standing in the amiibo Gazebo in Fire Emblem Engage

Once Chapter 5 has been cleared, players can visit the amiibo Gazebo, which can be found in the northwestern corner of the Somniel in Fire Emblem Engage. According to Fire Emblem Engage gameplay by the YouTube channel Perfectly Nintendo, the Gazebo is recognizable by its small central pedestal surrounded by flower vine-covered pillars. Players will know they are at the right location if they see a bush garden arch behind the structure. Accordingly, to activate the ability to redeem amiibo rewards, adventurers must approach the Gazebo's pedestal and press the A Button to begin the scanning process.

Sources at VGC state that Fire Emblem-themed amiibo do not directly unlock a specific Outfit but instead reward players with voucher-like tickets that can be used to redeem the costumes in the menu for changing Alear's apparel in Fire Emblem Engage. Compatible amiibo include Alm, Celica, Chrom, Corrin, Ike, Lucina, Marth, Robin, and Roy. Unfortunately, several Outfits have been reported to be gender-locked, limiting the cosmetic gear variety of what Alear can wear in-game.

Additionally, VGC mentions that players can only scan up to five amiibo per day, after which they must wait for an entire 24 hours in real time to elapse before they can continue scanning more figures. As noted above, any non-Fire Emblem figurines will grant players random materials and items that can be consumed in combat in Fire Emblem Engage.

    Summary:
Intelligent System's strategy RPG franchise returns with Fire Emblem Engage for the Nintendo Switch. Fire Emblem Engage takes place in a unique timeline that intersects several heroes across the Fire Emblem universe. In this title, four kingdoms fought side by side to seal the Fell Dragon - but after a thousand years, the seal on the great dragon has weakened, threatening to upend the world again. Players will take on the role of a male or female protagonist that they choose to defend the continent of Elyos. Players will also collect Emblem Rings to summon legendary heroes from other time periods, such as Marth, Roy, and Celica, to perform unique special attacks and merge themselves to enhance their own strength. Returning to a more classic style of Fire Emblem, Engage focuses more on 1v1 grid-based strategy combat similar to games like Fire Emblem Awakening.
