Over the last five weeks, Fortnite has gotten a few new NPC bosses based on beloved Marvel characters to fit the theme of their massive Season 4 crossover. Each one of these bosses has been more difficult to overcome than the last. In the latest update, v14.20, Epic Games added Wolverine as a new boss, just one week ahead of when the special skin based on his character is set to unlock. Players will more than likely need to eliminate him as part of a challenge next week, but this week, players may still want to seek him out for practice.

Unlike any other boss in Fortnite so far, Wolverine doesn’t spawn in the same place every game. In fact, he can spawn at any location within a wide radius, so players are likely to encounter him largely by chance. Like Tony Stark at Stark Industries, Wolverine is highly powerful. He’s made more dangerous by the fact that, like in the comics and films, he can self-heal and self-revive. Players are more than likely going to want to take him on in Squads rather than in Solos or Duos to have a better chance at defeating the infamous Mutant. Here’s everything to know about finding Wolverine in Fortnite Season 4.

How to Find Wolverine in Fortnite

Wolverine does not have a single spawn location. Rather, he was programmed with a huge spawn radius and will show up in random locations around the map each match. He will most often spawn somewhere in Weeping Woods but has free reign to wander around the map. Tracking Wolverine to fight in the first place is a challenge unto itself.

Right now, there is no surefire way to find Wolverine in the game. YouTuber Kanga mapped some of the most common spawn locations where Wolverine has been seen in the game so far, but this is by no means an exhaustive list. There are a few things players can do to make it easier to spot the Mutant, however. The most obvious choice would be to consider landing anywhere in Weeping Woods for a few matches with the hope paths will cross. This is unreliable but beneficial.

Players can also turn on the visual sounds setting in the game. This will show footsteps onscreen that players can use to track Wolverine through Weeping Woods.

Another option might be to fly overhead using a Choppa. This will give players a better view of the area and allow them to find Wolverine and follow him.

Once players find Wolverine and engage him for a fight, they will want to keep their distance as much as possible to avoid some of his heavier hits. However, he is capable of closing the distance between himself and the player with a lunge move.

Wolverine drops a Mythic Weapon like Dr. Doom and Tony Stark. He will drop his claws upon being defeated, which can be used in melee fighting and help players use that same lunge move on opponents on their way to a victory royale.
