There are several hidden Legendary and Mythical Pokémon players can find and photograph in New Pokémon Snap, and one of the most difficult to capture in a photo is fan-favorite Mew. To find Mew, players are going to need to beat the main campaign of New Pokémon Snap at least once. They will also need to perfect their aim with Fluffruit, making sure they are able to hit quick-moving targets. Mew stays in its magenta orb, only breaking out when hit with a Fluffruit, and players will need Mew to appear for at least three pictures to get a four-star shot of the famous Mythical Pokémon.

To find Mew in New Pokémon Snap, players will return to the Founja Jungle (Night) course. If they have reached Research Level 2 for the course, they can lure Mew out with a little bit of music. They will need to be quick using the research camera to snap split-second photos. Once players find Mew and follow the steps to get a four-star photograph, Mew will begin spawning more frequently and will not bounce around in its orb. Here's how to find and photograph Mew in New Pokémon Snap.

How to Photograph Mew in New Pokémon Snap

Mew in the Jungle in New Pokémon Snap

To lure Mew out of hiding in New Pokémon Snap, players will need to begin the Founja Jungle (Night) stage at Research Level 2. At the start of the level, before moving, players should turn the Neo-One around. They will see two Morelull.

Playing a Melody toward the Morelull on the research camera's music player will cause a magenta bubble to emerge from a cave behind them. Players will need to hit the sphere with a Fluffruit to get Mew to emerge from the orb for a few seconds. They will need to snap a quick photo before Mew returns to the orb and continues moving.

If players want to get a four-star shot of Mew at the end of the level, they need to hit the orb with a Fluffruit again and get more photos of Mew as they progress forward. If they don't manage to hit Mew's orb or snap a photo, Mew will float deeper into the forest and disappear. Hitting Mew with Fluffruit and grabbing pictures ensures they will follow the player all the way to the end of the course.

Once players reach the ancient ruins and the waterfall, they will need to play the Melody again. Mew should then appear right in front of the Neo-One without the bubble. Players can take this opportunity to get a good close-up shot, which usually results in a four-star photo. Alternatively, they should be able to toss a Fluffruit to Mew and get a four-star photo of Mew eating it. By the end of the stage, players should have photos of Mew at all four possible star levels.

Mew will begin to spawn more frequently in New Pokémon Snap after being lured out the first time. Mew will even begin to appear in the Founja Jungle (Day) course once players have lured it out using the above method. There will be a request players can complete to photograph Mew during the day as well.
