The Longbow is a tool that completes Jin Kasai's arsenal. It secures his place as a Ghost by giving him the ability to eliminate threats from a longer distance than the Shortbow can reach. The additional power is also a plus for players without the best aim. Here's how to get the longbow in Ghost of Tsushima.

The Road to the Longbow in Ghost of Tsushima

The longbow is an item that cannot be purchased at any point in the game. There are pre-requisite quests that must be accomplished before the player can get their hands on this powerful tool. In particular, players must complete three distinct quests.

Firstly, they must complete The Tale of Lady Masako. This questline sees Jin Kasai tracking down Lady Masako and the women of Clan Adachi. The player needs to deliver the news of Lady Masako's husband's death and recruit Clan Adachi to join the fight to rescue Lord Shimura.

The following mission is The Tale of Ryuzo. This quest involves helping Ryuzo and the Straw Hat Ronin recover stolen food from the Mongols. The player will need to help out with this journey until the Straw Hats are willing to aid in Jin Kasai's mission.

The final questline is The Tale of Sensei Ishikawa. This set of missions involves finding the famous Sensei Ishikawa and recruiting him to join in the rescue of Lord Shimura. He has been missing since before the battle of Komoda Beach and his skills with a bow are needed desperately. Once players have completed these three questlines the path to the Longbow will be complete.

Finding the Longbow in Ghost of Tsushima

After players complete the three major quest lines they will need to head to the golden temple to talk to Yamato. Yamato should be seated near the steps of the temple in close proximity to the Blacksmith. When players speak with him, he will talk about how he is afraid to go into the forest nearby. Naturally, that is where the player will need to go.

A new quest will be marked on the player's map, sending them deep into the forest. The start point for this quest is located in the Izuhara Region. The quest will lead players to a cave where they will find a map to the next location. This map will lead to another map. Upon following the final map, the player will discover to Uchitsune Longbow at long last. It will be sitting upon an altar. Be aware that picking up the Longbow will trigger a boss fight.
