Bees are now available in Minecraft. This guide will show players how they can find and harvest bees in the game. Minecraft recently had a massive update that introduced tons of bees into the game. It is part of the many mobs that are available in the world and are fairly passive if players are careful with them. Like real bees, they will only attack when provoked. After damaging the player, they will lose their stinger and pass away shortly after. Although, there are certain benefits for those looking to harvest bees and their honey. This guide will show players where they can find bees and how they can harvest them.

For starters, bees can be found in sunny biomes near a bunch of flowers. Locations like sunflower plains and flower forest plains are your best bet to encounter them. They can be found inside of their hives which are located attached to trees. Players can then do a variety of things with the bees like move their homes to new locations, battle them to harvest their honeycomb, take their honey directly, or train them like any of the other pets in the game. Here is how players can harvest bees in Minecraft.

How To Harvest Bees in Minecraft

Minecraft Dr. Mundo

Once the player locates the beehive, they have a few different options for harvesting them.

  • Campfire: Placing a campfire under the beehive will set them to calm mode. This allows players to get close and personal and harvest their honey using empty bottles.
  • Flowers: The player can use a flower to lure the bees outside of their hive. Players can then move the bees to a new location or attach a leash to them to move them to a new location. It's important to mention that the bees won't go very far when using the flowers.
  • Honeycombs: Once the bee's nest is at a higher level, players can use sheers that are used on sheep to harvest honeycombs. Players can then use these with a combination of planks to make their own beehives. This is great for moving bees to their new homes.

Minecraft continues to add new content for its players to enjoy. This remains one of the best-selling games of all time and shows no sign of slowing down. It will be interesting to see what other mobs will make their way to the game. When horses were added, it felt like an entirely new dimension of content was available. Combining this with the endless mod potential from fans and Minecraft has content for decades.
