Players of Monster Hunter Stories 2  will encounter the Nargacuga in an early quest within the game but have to slay it. For players who want to keep or raise their own Nargacuga, they will need to find another one or its eggs on their own. Luckily, finding one shouldn't be too difficult.

Players likely will encounter their first Nargacuga in the quest A Stranger in Black, which is part of the process to play multiplayer in-game. This will be in Alcala, and if the player stays in this area, they can hunt for more of them afterward inside dens. However, there are a couple of methods players can use to find the Nargacuga or its eggs.

Where Nargacuga and Their Eggs are Found in Monster Hunter Stories 2

One of the easier ways to find a rare wyvern like the Nargacuga is by using the paintberry method. However, this can be a bit of a time-consuming method and has some drawbacks. Paintberry monsters have a weakness that will make them more likely to retreat from the fight and make them weaker as a part of the player's future party.

Alternatively, players should head to rare dens throughout the Alcala area. There are quite a few of these dens in the West Etuelle Forest, where players will find the Nargacuga that is part of the quest, A Stranger in Black. In general, this should be the easiest area to find the Nargacuga in. Rare dens can also be found by purchasing expedition tickets from the Melynx Inc merchants. However, this will cost extra bottle caps that players may want to use elsewhere.

For players that are hunting specifically for eggs, there is another method that can be used on the wild Nargacuga that forces players into fighting. In these types of situations, instead of wasting time and energy on fighting the Nargacugas, players can force them into retreating. This can easily be done by putting out a pitfall trap in the battle. After this, the eggs should be left unattended long enough for the player to grab them.

After this, players can put the eggs in their egg carton and leave the den. Head back to the stables to hatch the eggs and train them up. Players can purchase gene modifications if the stats aren't the best after they have hatched. These are done by Melynx Inc. and are traded for bottle caps.
