To build a great settlement and establish a home in England in Assassin's Creed: Valhalla, players are going to need to fight, pillage, and hunt. Hunting may be one of the more fun things for players to do in Valhalla. There are dozens of creatures occupying the wildernesses and environments around Norway and England. Hunting can help players gain materials, XP, and schemes for new equipment. Players will need to build the Hunter's Hut on their settlement to get better rewards from their excursions, especially if they want to go after the nine Legendary Animals living in each major named map region. These creatures tend to be larger and stronger than their regular counterparts, and they will often drop better rewards. For finding and slaying all nine beasts, players will earn the Master Hunter Achievement/Trophy and get the heads of each creature mounted on their Longhouse walls.

Some of the Legendary creatures are actually groups or packs of animals rather than just one. The Wildcats of the Weald are a father-son Lynx duo in Hamtunscire, England that can be a difficult fight. They both have a lunge-pounce move and can quickly overwhelm Eivor, and the younger cat will latch onto Eivor like the Legendary Black Shuck and drain their health quickly. Players will need to prepare before heading to England to take on these fearsome creatures. Here's how to find and defeat the Legendary Wildcats of the Weald in Assassin's Creed: Valhalla.

How to Find and Defeat the Legendary Wildcats of the Weald in Assassin's Creed: Valhalla

The map location of the Wildcats of the Weald in Assassin's Creed: Valhalla

According to the legend cited in the player's Hunting Log, the Wildcats of the Weald are considered lions of Wessex who prey on women, children, and babies. They can lunge, swipe, attack simultaneously, and the smaller one will attack Eivor from behind and refuse to let go.

The locations of all nine Legendary Animals begin as mystery markers on the map and will eventually morph into blue pawprints. Players will find this one in Hamtunscire, England in the Dark Weald located west of the Afon River and southwest of Wincestre. Players can follow the blood, pawprints, and bodies to find the lynxes among some rocks, which will serve as the boss arena.

To defeat the lynxes, players should not lose sight of the small one but should focus on bringing down the Elder Lynx first. It helps to move around and attack with a ranged weapon, then switch to melee for a few seconds when the cat is not ready to pounce. When the Young Lynx attacks from behind and holds onto Eivor, players will need to follow the button prompts to roll to get the creature off and prevent it from draining too much health.

Players should not attempt this hunt until they are around at least 250-300 Power, as the lynxes typically hover around 340 Power. It's always a good idea to save before triggering this fight and stock up on Rations. This is one of the more difficult Legendary Animal boss fights players will encounter.

After Eivor defeats the Legendary Wildcats of the Weald, they will receive some skill points, XP, 1 Hamtunscire Mystery, 160 Leather, and the Skratii Scheme (Back). They can also bring the head to Wallace to have it mounted.
