When players are not raiding a monastery or conquering the Saxons in Assassin's Creed: Valhalla, they can instead build up their settlement, explore the various regions of Norway and England, and collect XP, materials, and schematics by hunting down the creatures that call the different regions home. Once players build the Hunter's Hut on their settlement, they can bring back the fruits of their hunting trips for rewards. There are nine creatures, about one in every major area of the map, that are larger and more valuable, but also more difficult, for players to find and hunt. These are Legendary Animals, and hunting all nine of them will offer players excellent rewards and the Master Hunter Trophy/Achievement.

One creature players can find is the Aelfred's Battle-Sow, a bull in the Suthsexe, England region. If players can defeat it, they will earn XP, area mystery progress, and more materials. The fight isn't easy, but it isn't nearly as difficult as some of the other Legendary Animals. What makes this fight difficult are the other bulls that may also attack while the player is preoccupied with the Battle-Sow and can quickly overwhelm and defeat the player. Here's how to find and defeat the Aelfred's Battle-Sow in Assassin's Creed: Valhalla.

How to Find and Defeat The Legendary Aelfred’s Battle-Sow in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla

The map location for the Aelfred's Battle-Sow in Assassin's Creed: Valhalla

According to legend, the Battle-Sow was one of the calves bred and raised by Aelfred to be a warrior. It is said they "have supped on blood instead of milk." Its horns will gore the player if they aren't careful.

Players will find this large bull on the Tuicca's Farm in Suthsexe, England, east of Briggsworth and just south of Lunden. The pen with the large, Legendary bull and the other, smaller bulls serves as the battle arena for this boss fight, and stepping inside the pen will trigger the Battle-Sow to charge, horns-first.

Like the Legendary Elk, the bull has three main attacks: headbutt, charge, and kick. It's a slower creature, so players should be able to see its telegraphing animation to anticipate the move and dodge before it lands. It's also a good idea to attack from the sides, which will force the creature to turn, slowing its attack speed somewhat.

There are two phases to the fight against the Aelfred's Battle-Sow, and the second is more difficult than the first. At first, the other bulls in the pen will remain passive against the player, with only the Legendary Bull attacking. However, once the Legendary Bull reaches half health, the other smaller bulls will get involved.

To survive, the player will need to run away from the smaller bulls and dodge their attacks while firing on the Legendary Bull. Miasma is a good skill to use as well for effective crowd control.

Players should make sure they're somewhere between 200-250 Power before going after this creature to give themselves the best chance at winning, since the bull hovers around level 250. Players will also want to save the game prior to starting the fight in case it goes wrong.

For finding and defeating the Aelfred's Battle-Sow, players will receive XP, +1 Suthsexe Mystery, 85 Leather, and the Petra’s Arc (Predator Bow), one of the better weapons in the game. They will also get the head of the bull mounted on their wall if they bring it to Wallace.
