The Banana Shrine can be a bit tricky to find in Stardew Valley if you don't know its precise location. You will also need to complete the Shrine so that you can use it for your Golden Walnut collection. The Shrine can be found on Ginger Island, where you can discover new fish species, meet new NPCs, and unlock other secrets.

To reach Ginger Island in Stardew Valley, you will need to help Willy the Fishermen so that you can travel to the island. The fisherman needs help repairing his boat, which can only be done once you unlock the fish shop's backroom. Once you have access to the backroom, Willy will provide a list of items you need to collect to repair the boat.

Banana Shrine's Location On Ginger Island

How To Activate The Banana Shrine

The cover art for Stardew Valley's 1.5 update

Once you arrive at Ginger Island, you can find the Banana Shrine in the Jungle area of the island, next to Leo's house. You can also find interesting animals, such as the Golden Joja Parrot in Stardew Valley. When you first approach the Banana Shrine, nothing will happen. That's because you need to bring a banana as an offering to activate the jungle altar properly. There are multiple ways players can get bananas:

  • Banana trees (during the Summer or throughout the year on Ginger Island)
  • After building the trading hut, you can purchase a banana from the vendor.
  • Golden Coconuts have a chance of dropping a banana.

Bananas are rare but useful, so it's important to try to pick them up whenever you see them. Stardew Valley's bananas are most prominent on Ginger Island but can also be grown at home. If placed in your greenhouse, they will produce bananas all year long.

Once you have a banana, you can head back to the Shrine on Ginger Island and interact with it. The two torchers will light up and will be rewarded with 3 Golden Walnuts for the banana.

The Banana Shrine is now complete, and you can save your remaining bananas for gifts and cooking. Everyone in Stardew Valley likes bananas except for Vincent, Jas, Abigail, and Haley, and they sell for 150g-300g depending on quality.
