Sometimes, traversing the Galar region can help players narrow down and locate certain Pokémon. Other times, it doesn't hurt to have a little help. Some Pokémon are harder to find than others. Pokémon such as Wimpod.

Where to Find Wimpod in Pokémon Sword and Shield
Wimpod is a tough Pokémon to locate. This little bug and water type Pokémon is shyer than others, which makes him not only a runner if players do see him, but it also means it spends a lot of its time hiding. Players will have to know where to look in order to find and catch this Pokémon. Wimpod is often referred to as the "Turn Tail Pokemon," so it's fair to say he's pretty shy.
Although Wimpod doesn't look like much, it evolves into Golisopod. Golisopod is a hard scale Pokemon that players will definitely want on their team. He's strong and significantly less frightened than his counterpart, Wimpod. He also has a decent ability, Emergency Escape. When Golisopod's health drops below 50%, it'll automatically switch itself out. Also, it looks pretty awesome.
Although players can find Wimpod throughout Galar, most regions for finding Wimpod will be weather dependent. For players who are searching for Wimpod, start by heading towards Galar Mine No. 2. Galar Mine No. 2 seems to be the only location that isn't weather dependent, making it a hunting ground for Wimpods. The spawn rate for this pokemon in this area is 25 percent, making it one of the best areas to find Wimpod. Their levels will range from 20 to 24 as well.
Additionally, Hammerlocke Hills will have a few higher-level Wimpods for players to find. These Wimpods will range in levels from about 29 to 31, making them stronger than the ones in Galar Mine No. 2. Unfortunately, finding Wimpod in Hammerlocke Hills means that players should search the area when it's thunder and raining. This will boost the spawn rate of Wimpods to 35 percent. Just remember that both of these locations will have overworld spawns and non-overworld spawns. Just be careful and mindful when capturing a higher level Wimpod. Wimpod will evolve into Golisopod at level 30, so one more level up could result in the awesome hardshell Pokemon.
Players can also find them along Motostoke River and throughout the Bridge Field region as well, so long as it's raining and thundering outside. Players can also find a few rare 1-star max raid battles that host Wimpod. These will be in dens within the Bridge Field, Dabbled Grove, South Late Miloch, and Rolling Fields areas. Keep hunting, especially during thunderstorms! Wimpod will appear.
