Shiny Marill is one of the Shiny Pokemon available in Pokemon Go. This guide will show players how they can find and capture their own. Shiny Pokemon are amongst the most difficult Pokemon to encounter. While they don't do much in terms of stats or damage (these are usually worst than normal Pokemon), they do scratch that itch for those looking to capture them all. Shiny Marill in particular has a nice light green color to it. Players looking to capture both a Marill and an Azumarill should aim to capture a Shiny version of each. Here is how players can encounter a Shiny Marill.

Recently, Pokemon Go hosted an event where players were able to complete Limited Research tasks. After they were done, players would encounter a Marill. This Marill did have a chance to become Shiny and was likely the first time players ever encounter one of their own. The event is over, but that doesn't mean players no longer have a chance to collect a Shiny Marill. There is an upcoming event that will provide players with another chance to capture this Shiny Pokemon. This guide will help players locate them.

How To Find (& Catch) Shiny Marill in Pokemon Go

Pokemon Go Marill and Shiny

While Marill can be found randomly at any moment, the best chance for players to find a Shiny one is during the upcoming Spotlight Hour event. Marill Spotlight Hour will take place from Tuesday, May 25th from 6 pm to 7 pm local time. During this time period, the amount of Marill's will drastically increase. Players will have a better chance at finding a Shiny Marill if they just tap on it on the screen and run away if it's not Shiny. They will only have 1 hour to find a single Shiny. Mind you, it won't be too difficult if players are quickly switching between Pokemon. By the end of the Spotlight Hour, players should have 2 Shiny Marill if luck is on their side.

Pokemon Go continues to introduce new Shiny Pokemon as part of the events. Since Marill was a part of the Johto generation when it was first introduced, it had its Shiny form around for quite some time. Regardless, the game is focusing heavily on Fairy-type Pokemon and a Shiny Marill and Shiny Azumarill are a perfect addition to your collection. Make sure to pay close attention to that upcoming Spotlight Hour to capture Shiny versions of both of them.
