For players looking to complete their Pokédex in Pokémon Sword & Shield, it can be difficult to find the pre-evolution version of Jigglypuff, Igglybuff, because it is somewhat rarer. Because Pokémon has always been a creature collector game at heart, traversing the Galar region for new Pokémon to catch and train is imperative. Despite its rarity, there are two ways for players to collect Igglybuff.

In the game's latest DLC, Isle of Armor, players can either happen across an Igglybuff in Galar for their collection or, and more commonly, they can breed for one using either of its evolutions, Jigglypuff or Wigglytuff. No matter which way a player chooses to do it, here's how to find and catch Igglybuff in Pokémon Sword & Shield.

Find or Breed Igglybuff in Pokémon Sword & Shield

A player finds a wild Jigglypuff in Pokemon Sword & Shield Isle of Armor DLC

Players only have a 16% chance of coming across an Igglybuff in passing. They tend to be active in grassy areas of the Fields of Honor in any kind of weather.

More commonly, however, players will find a Jigglypuff here instead. There is a 32% chance of coming across a Jigglypuff in the Fields of Honor, making it the easier way to obtain Igglybuff. These can also be found on Challenge Beach. Players can find Jigglypuff in any weather.

Players can also find Wigglytuff in several more locations as a static encounter in foggy weather conditions: Fields of Honor, Challenge Beach, Forest of Focus, and Soothing Wetlands.

There are two ways to breed and obtain an Igglybuff. The first is to take either a male and female Jigglypuff or a male and female Wigglytuff to the Pokémon Nursery along Route 5 or in Bridge Field. The union between two of either evolution will always result in an Igglybuff.

Players can also obtain one Jigglypuff (or Wigglytuff) and travel to Bridge Field near the Stony Wilderness to find a Ditto. Because Ditto appears in most Pokémon egg groups, players can breed their Jigglypuff or Wigglytuff with Ditto at the Pokémon Nursery to hatch an Igglybuff.

Once a player drops off the two Jigglypuffs, two Wigglytuffs, or Jigglypuff or Wigglytuff and Ditto at the Nursery, they will need to bike away. When they return after a time, the Nursery attendant will have her arms crossed, indicating she has an egg for the player. The player can take the egg from her and add it to their active party. They must bike around for a while to hatch the egg.

If players later want to evolve Igglybuff into Jigglypuff, they will need to earn a high friendship level with Igglybuff. If they want to later evolve the resulting Jigglypuff into a Wigglytuff, they will need to find and present Jigglypuff with a Moon Stone.
