Galarian forms of Pokemon are alternate takes on preexisting Pokemon. Not only do their designs change but their typing as well. For example, Weezing, a Poison-type Pokemon from the Kanto region had received a Galarian form that turns it into a Poison and Fairy-type Pokemon. Now, the game has done this with the original legendary birds from Kanto, Zapdos, Articuno, and Moltres. Each bird comes along with a new design and a new way of capturing them that is very renascent of hunting down Pokemon from previous generations. Here's how players can capture a Galarian Zapdos.

How To Catch Galarian Zapdos in the Pokemon: Crown Tundra DLC

Players will first need to navigate their way towards the Dyna Hill Tree which is located in the bottom area of the Crown Tundra. On the Town Map, it's the giant pink and white tree down at the bottom. Once here, a cutscene will play where the three legendary birds are battling. Eventually, they will spread off into random directions and it is up to the player to find them all individually. To find Galarian Zapdos, the player will need to head back to the mainland to the Wild Area. Fly to the Meetup Spot and head forward. The player will be able to spot Galarian Zapdos in the distance on the right. The player will then need to chase after it. Although, Galarian Zapdos is very fast. To catch it, the player will need to cut corners and predict where it is going to run to. Tackle it to begin a battle and capture it there.

This is the final piece of the Pokemon: Sword & Shield expansion pass. The next Pokemon title will likely be announced within the next year. Whether it be a new generation or the heavily anticipated fourth-generation remake is up in the air. The Crown Tundra will mark the last adventure in the Galar region before moving forward towards the future.
