Calyrex is the newest legendary Pokemon introduced in the Pokemon: Crown Tundra DLC. This guide will show how players can find it. The Pokemon Sword & Shield expansion pass is the first time in the series where a mainline Pokemon title has received paid DLC. Through this expansion pass, new locations like the Isle of Armor and Crown Tundra are unlocked in the Galar region. These locations come along with their own stories, characters, setting, and Pokemon to capture. The second half of the expansion pass just released and Calyrex is the main Pokemon within this area. This guide will show how players can find it.

The Crown Tundra brings players into a desolate wasteland covered in snow and ice. Similar to the Isle of Armor and the Wild Area, the entire area is a wide-open space for players to explore. Over 100 Pokemon from previous generations are reintroduced into the game like Nidoking and the legendary birds which come along with their own Galarian variations. The moment the player arrives, they will meet Peony, an eager father visiting the Crown Tundra with his daughter for holiday. While his energy is high, he ultimately wants to make sure he is making the best of his vacation with his daughter. Here's how players can capture Calyrex in Pokemon Sword & Shield.

How To Catch Calyrex in Pokemon: Crown Tundra DLC

Calyrex will task the player with several tasks during their time in the Crown Tundra. These include planting vegetables, locating its loyal steed, and helping rebuild its reputation. After the player has created the Reins of Unity, an item used to tame Calyrex's legendary steed, the Pokemon will head to the highest point in the Crown Tundra, the Crown Shrine. Here, the player will witness a cutscene of Calyrex taming its horse and it will challenge the player to a battle. Calyrex is a Pokemon that can be naturally captured by completing the story of the Crown Tundra. Players can then use this Pokemon as they see fit.

Pokemon Sword & Shield has been a massive success for the Nintendo Switch and continues to push millions of copies. The Pokemon Company has ever released a version of the game with all of the DLC already included. This looks like the final trip players will make into the Galar region since no more DLC is currently planned. It is likely we will see the next mainline Pokemon title in the near future. Regardless, the Galar region has been one of the more enjoyable Pokemon experiences.
