Perhaps the greatest thing about Microsoft Flight Simulator is not the incredibly detailed aircraft which handle realistically. Instead, it is the ability to fly all over Earth, including places that most people would not be able to visit normally due to laws, strange terrain, or dangerous weather.

Take for example the mysterious area known as the Bermuda Triangle. Also known as the Devil’s Triangle, it is an area between three points where a number of mysterious things have happened over the years. Both ships and aircraft have gone missing, mysteriously disappearing while within the region. Some have reported equipment failure, with compasses no longer working. Others reported strange lights in the sky, or dense fog obscuring all sense of direction. Truly it is a haunted area.

How to Locate The Bermuda Triangle in Microsoft Flight Simulator

Or at least that’s what some believe. The Bermuda Triangle is a loosely defined area between southern Florida, Puerto Rico, and Bermuda. It encompasses somewhere between 500,000 to 1 million square miles. Sure, over the course of a hundred years or so there have been some strange accidents, but that can be statistically expected in an area with high ship traffic as well as air traffic. It is likely that these accidents are just that: accidents. Or it could really be the location of the fabled Atlantis or even a portal to another world. Who can prove that it is not the case?

Logical fallacies aside, Microsoft Flight Simulator allows players to take off from 37,000 different airports around the world. There is a number that is not only near the Bermuda Triangle but within it as well. For players wishing to experience some of the best of what the Bermuda Triangle has to offer, a recommendation is to take off from Miami International Airport, (KMIA) heading towards Puerto Rico. Along the way, players will fly over the Atlantic Ocean, as well as the Bahamas, and depending on their flight path, possibly over the Dominican Republic as well. It’s likely more exciting than flying to Bermuda, where for most of the trip, all that players will be able to see is the waters of the Atlantic Ocean.

Players can land at the Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (KSJU), which is the largest airport in Puerto Rico. Located near San Juan, the capital of Puerto Rico, it has the added benefit of being on the eastern side of is island. This means players have the chance to fly over the island before landing.

During the entire trip, players will technically be flying in the boundaries of the area known as the Bermuda Triangle. Maybe something spooky will happen.
