The Great Wroggi, also known as the Venomous Commander, is a poisonous bird wyvern that more so uses the lesser wroggi for defense rather than to command in Monster Hunter Rise. Not nearly as tactical as the Great Baggi, the Great Wroggi will throw all of its lesser companions at the player until it is just down to the two of them. This can make them a bit challenging, however, once the player gets past its smaller defenses, this creature is only a two-star threat.

The Great Wroggi can be found in any of its three main habitats. These are the Flooded Forest, Lava Caverns, and the Shrine Ruins. However, finding this creature is the easiest aspect of the fight to come.

Great Wroggi's Defenses and Vulnerabilities in Monster Hunter Rise

As with every enemy available within the game, the Great Wroggi has a vulnerable spot on its body, elemental weaknesses, and status vulnerabilities. The best place to aim at the Great Wroggi is at its head as it is the most vulnerable spot. Luckily, as it is a smaller monster, that shouldn't be too difficult to hit. They are also weak to Ice and Water damage, so weapons with these damage types will be the most useful in this fight. Lastly, the Great Wroggi is vulnerable to Paralysis, Sleep, Blast, and Iceblight.

Due to this creature also being incredibly sneaky and venomous, players will need to be more careful and should stock up on antidotes before riding out to find one. They can be quite vicious and easily overrun someone who isn't prepared properly. Once found, players should try and stick as close to the Great Wroggi, as possible. This may be difficult with all of its lackeys, but this will also keep the creature from using its venom abilities against the player. The poison is incredibly deadly, and fast-acting, so players need to take an antidote as soon as they touch the smoke.

They also will use their whole body to attack the player when they are given the chance. Players need to be wary of this tackle when they keep themselves so close to the Great Wroggi. Focus on damaging its venom sack as much as possible before staying a distance away from this. Once the pouch is destroyed, there should be no need to worry about its venom. This will make the rest of the fight fairly easy in comparison.
