Yakuza: Like a Dragon has just released in the west on new consoles, expanding its reach beyond just Japanese PlayStation 4 owners. The game retains the series’ signature serious crime martial arts drama blended with over the top humor and RPG elements. The shifting gameplay and tone has been a rousing critical success among reviewers.

Partway through the game, players can gain a side quest to locate several cats lost around the city. While this seems like a very standard quest, the rewards are very substantial. The client will give a hefty 1,000,000 yen bonus. Best yet, players will also be granted a new Poundmates summon that will bring a feline companion into battle.

Cats at Part Time Hero in Yakuza Like a Dragon

Players will need to wait until chapter 5 to start this questline. Once gaining access to that point in the story, one should head to the Cafe Brave building and head to the third floor. Players will meet Hiro, owner of Part-Time Hero. While the business is normally about finding missing persons or items, Hiro will ask the player to first locate his missing cats. They are scattered around the city but will meow and make other noticeable feline sounds.

  • First Cat: This cat is within the Commercial District, near the Can Quest from earlier in the game. They are at the parking garage roof between S Sakura River Street and Misaki Street. Look for a parked blue car, the cat will be behind it.
  • Second Cat: This cat is also within the Commercial District, on the northern part of Sunrise Street. Look for a stairwell leading into the river and a green awning. The cat will be on a green bin next to a large blue bucket.
  • Third Cat: This cat is at Restaurant Row. Look for the small alleyway along Ijin Street next to a weapon shop. Head all the way down and turn right to spot the cat resting between two buildings.
  • Fourth Cat: This cat is in the Bar District on the South-West side of the city. After crossing over Fukufuku Bridge, approach the LEDA building and the large stone sculpture of a large face and angels. The cat will be sitting in a nearby doorway.
  • Fifth Cat: This cat is in Chinatown, the South-East side of the main Chinatown road intersection. The cat will be sleeping in a flower bed overlooking an orange caution cone.
  • Sixth Cat: This cat is at East Jinnai Station. One must head to the east side of the Old People’s Home via Daikokuten Street (although players can also enter through the other gates, but will need to run around the building to reach the Daikokuten gate). Walk to the right-hand side of the building’s entrance and the cat will be found on top of a green electrical generator.
  • Seventh Cat: This cat is at West Jinnai Station. It is south of Jinnai Service Road, but behind a fence. One will need to first find the broken gap in the fence along the bushes. Once inside, head to the trash bin with a blue lid to find the cat.
  • Eighth Cat: This cat is in North Jinnai Station. Head north of the soccer field and walk just behind a large bush. The cat will be near the North-West corner of the building.
  • Ninth Cat: The Ninth Cat is in Hamakita Park. Find the shop Flowers 2 Go and head directly south to the park’s drinking fountain. The cat will be on the left, just underneath the fountain.
  • Tenth Cat: The final cat is also in Hamakita Park, but will not appear until all other nine are found. One will need to rush back to Part-Time Hero and speak with Hiro about their current progress. This will spawn Robson, the final cat. Head back to the park and to the very North-East edge. Along a winding road will be Robson sitting on top of a single light post.

Return to Hiro and he will offer a reward of one million Yen (approximately around $10,000 USD). Players can also use Robson and their Super Kitty Punch as a Poundmate summon in battle.
