The guys over at Bloody-Disgusting have the exclusive on the final trailer for the upcoming "in-camera" Spanish-language horror sequel, [REC] 2. Those of you who don't speak Español will be glad to hear it has English subtitles, although I doubt what the terrorized are saying is of as much as interest as what's happening on-screen.
"It has been just 15 minutes after authorities lost contact with the people locked in the building under quarantine. Nobody knows what happens inside. Outside is chaos...a SWAT unit enters the interior of the house to monitor the situation and determine what is happening. A seemingly quick and easy task. But everyone knows. Sometimes appearances can be deceiving..."
Intriguing stuff. The new trailer isn't too dissimilar to the one we saw a few weeks ago, with perhaps a bit more clarity due to not only the implemented English subtitles, but the more "stagey" nature of it. Anyway, without further ado, check out the final [REC] 2 trailer:
Hopefully the English subtitles that come with this final trailer mean that we'll hear wind of U.S. and UK distribution soon, as I, for one, am dying to see this terrifying experience continue (both for the characters AND the viewer). Reviews for [REC] 2 are mostly positive so far, with welcome word that it continues on with the same amount of scares and tension as the first... thankfully.
What do you think of the final trailer for [REC] 2? Have you seen the first film, and are you looking forward to its sequel?
[REC] 2 is playing at the Austin Fantastic Fest this Friday, September 25th, and opens in its native Spain on October 2nd, 2009. No U.S. or UK theatrical release date has been set as of yet (we'll keep you posted on that front).
