An animated space opera, comedy-drama, Final Space explores the unique relationship between a human astronaut and an extraterrestrial being, along with their quest to save the universe.
Created by popular YouTuber Olan Rogers, Final Space is co-executive produced by TBS talk show host Conan O’Brien. Rogers himself voices the main characters Gary Goodspeed and Mooncake, while the supporting cast features the voices of David Tennant (Jessica Jones), Fred Armisen (Forever), Steven Yeun (The Walking Dead), and Keith David. In the Final Space season 1 finale, Gary Goodspeed squares off against the Lord Commander in the ultimate battle.

Considering that Final Space season 1 managed to establish a certain level of popularity, it's no surprise that TBS wants to move forward with Final Space season 2, and here’s everything we know about the forthcoming Final Space season 2.
Final Space Season 2 Renewal
In May 2018, TBS officially ordered Final Space season 2. Furthermore, it was announced that 13 episodes would be produced for Final Space season 2, an increase from the original 10-episode season 1. This alone proves that TBS is confident in Final Space's success to order additional episodes in season 2. The question is, can Final Space season 2's story handle the additional episodes? Final Space season 1 aired from February 26, 2018 to May 7, 2018, and TBS’ renewal was significant, as it was announced on the same day of the season 1 finale, “Chapter Ten.”
Final Space Season 2 Release Date
On Reddit, Final Space’s creator, Rogers, revealed that Final Space season 2 doesn’t have an official release date yet, but that it will indeed release in 2019. Final Space season 2 is expected to release in the latter half of 2019. Rogers also notes that “everyone is finding their characters more,” and that he’s “starting to really find that voice for Gary.”
Final Space Season 2 Story
In Final Space season 1, Gary Goodspeed and the Galaxy One crew seek the true meaning of “Final Space.” By the season 1 finale, they battle the Lord Commander for a portal that leads to a parallel dimension, "Final Space." While Final Space is indeed described as a comedy, the season 1 finale ends on a dark note with Gary Goodspeed floating in the great unknown, and with Earth being pulled into a new dimension. Given the time travel aspect of the series, Final Space season 2 will most likely explore Gary’s new journey, one that takes place in an entirely different realm.
