A voice actor who had a role in Final Fantasy XV has teased that he will appear in a new Final Fantasy game in the future, leading to speculation among fans about what the project could be. There's been very little news about the series in recent months, with developer Square Enix not making any announcements about upcoming games. Yet, there have been some links to suggest a number of titles are in the works related to Final Fantasy 7 Remake.

2021 could be a big year for Final Fantasy fans. Not only has Square Enix teased a big announcement about the RPG franchise but many more entries from the series are due to hit Xbox Game Pass over the coming months. Microsoft had previously announced a partnership with Square Enix to bring most Final Fantasy games to the subscription-based service. The upcoming arrivals include Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy XIII-2, Final Fantasy VIII Remastered, and Final Fantasy X HD.

Voice actor Ray Chase, who is best known for playing Prince Noctis in Final Fantasy XV, has teased fans about an upcoming role in a future Final Fantasy game. Speaking in a Tweet, Chase mentioned a new project that he cannot wait to talk more about but mentioned in a follow-up post that he is "pretty much all out of Final Fantasy jokes." This has led to speculation among fans that the voice actor will have a part in a new Final Fantasy game. However, Chase did point out that he will not be playing the part of Zack Fair in the second part of Final Fantasy 7 Remake.

Although the COVID-19 pandemic has affected the development of several projects at Square Enix, the company has since confirmed that it will allow employees to work from home permanently. The studio previously sent its staff home as a safety precaution but has since said that it will set up a work-from-home program starting in December of last year to allow any employee who is able to do their duties from home. This is designed to create an optimal work-life balance.

Fans are understandably excited to see any news about Final Fantasy, especially as Square Enix has been very quiet about its most famous franchise in recent times. So little teases like this are always likely to create something of a stir. But until either Chase or the developer releases more information, it is impossible to say what he might be referring to.
