White Gatherer Scrips have now become common in Final Fantasy XIV Endwalker. Originally introduced as Shadowbringers’ high end level 80 currencies, with the release of the newest expansion they are much easier to find. This means that lots of old content now provides these once luxurious scrips.

Gatherer Scrips are shared between their classes: Miner, Botanist, and Fisher. One will need to reach at least level 50 on one of these to start collecting the currency. Conversely, players advancing all three classes at the same time may soon exceed the 2000 carrying cap. It is a good idea to be constantly spending half or more of one’s scrips to avoid losses.

To make way for White Gatherer Scrips, the older Yellow Gatherer Scrips have lost all value. Players that used to gather them in Stormblood and early parts of Shadowbringers will want to convert any of their remaining Yellow Scrips. This is available for only a limited amount of time. After patch 6.1 releases, those scrips will be completely removed from the game.

Gaining White Scrips in Final Fantasy XIV

Custom Deliveries in Final Fantasy 14

With the release of FFXIV Endwalker, gaining White Scrips are now much easier and can be started as low as level 50. There are several options, with some being faster, while others will give higher rewards from a greater time investment. Players should consider completing all of these when unlocked.

Collectables

From level 50 and above, players can trade in Rarefied versions of gathering items to any Collectable Appraiser throughout the world in Final Fantasy XIV. They are stationed in major cities like Limsa Lominsa, Gridania, and Ul’dah; along with outposts such as Mor Dhona, Idllshire, Rhalgr’s Reach, Eulmore, and Radz-at-Han. While this activity mainly gives experience points, players will still receive a set amount of White Scrips. Both rewards are determined by the Collectability value of each individual item.

Custom Deliveries

After completing the main story of Heavensward, players can create special collectibles for unique Final Fantasy XIV clients. Each will have a particular set of items they want as their storyline progresses; once it is complete, they will instead have a random set of requests each week. A client will accept up to six deliveries a week - which resets every Tuesday - and 12 total can be made across all of them. Current client options as of Endwalker include:

  • Zhole Aliapoh: level 50, unlocked via Arms Wide Shut in Idyllshire
  • M’naago: level 60, unlocked via None Forgotten None Forsaken in Rhalgr’s Reach
  • Kurenai: level 60, unlocked via The Seaweed is Always Greener in Kugane
  • Adkiragh: level 60, unlocked via Between a Rock and the Hard Place in Idyllshire
  • Kai-Shirr: level 70, unlocked via Oh Beehive Yourself in Eulmore
  • Ehll Tou: level 70, unlocked via O Crafter My Crafter in The Firmament
  • Count Charlemend de Derendaire: level 70, unlocked via Those Who Serve in The Firmament

Kai-Shirr, Ehll Tou, and Charlemend will also provide a good amount of experience points, even from level 80-90. While the others can also be delivered for experience points and White Scrips, players should stick to the highest level clients to be most efficient each week.

Story Deliveries

Introduced in FFXIV Shadowbringers, the former guild-specific stories have been combined together to also request Collectables for White Scrips rewards. Each set of quests are designed to help level gatherers from 70-80, and then 80-90. Completing these quests while already at level 90 will forfeit the rewards, as they are not upgraded to the new Purple Gathering Scrips. Each of these Final Fantasy storylines are independent of each other:

  • Iola, Forgemaster: level 70 Miner/Botanist, from Iola in the Crystarium
  • Well Eel Be Damned: level 70 Fisher, from Frithrik in the Crystarium
  • Cultured Pursuits: level 80 Miner/Botanist, from Hinageshi in Old Sharlayan
  • Fear the Thesis: level 80 Fisher, from T’laqa Tia in Old Sharlayan

Uses for White Scrips in Final Fantasy XIV

Buying items with White Scrips of Final Fantasy 14

Once acquired, White Scrips have a few good uses in Final Fantasy XIV, both while leveling normally and once at level 90. Nearly all of these can be gained from any Scrip Exchange merchant throughout the world.

High Item Level Equipment

Players can use White Scrips to buy strong high-end gathering gear from Heavensward, Stormblood, or Shadowbringers content. These will be the highest item level gear for their particular tier. However, crafters of equal level can also create items with superior stats, if they both manage to create a high-quality version and meld up to five Materia. Players who are already seasoned crafters should consider making their own items; while those that are only one of the gathering classes will need to spend their White Scrips.

Regional Folklore

Regional Folklore Tokens in FFXIV can be exchanged to unlock Regional Tomes, which provide additional new items that can be discovered while gathering. Each Token costs 100 White Scrips, while particular Tomes may cost from 16-50 Tokens. Trader’s Token A are from Stormblood items, Trader’s Token B for Shadowbringers, and Trader’s Token C are new for Endwalker. While the latter has cheaper costing Tomes, the amount of total Tomes is much higher than the previous two expansions.

Materia

Another good option is to use White Scrips to buy Gathering Materia in FFXIV. These will bump up a piece of gear’s power with additional Gathering, Perception, or GP stats. Note that each equipment piece has a hard stat cap - marked in red if one attempts to exceed it - so using Materia can go to waste if not paying close attention. Equipment item level also has a minimum Materia tier, with more leeway for odd ones. For example, the strongest Gathering gear in Endwalker can take two Tier 10 Materia and three Tier 9 Materia; this is despite Tier 9 providing stats that are far worse than Tier 8, which would occupy a Tier 10 slot if placed.

Another part to note is that melding requires FFXIV players to have a crafting job of the same level as the equipment. If one hasn’t leveled their own crafters they may ask other players for assistance by right-clicking on them and selecting “Request Meld”. There are also Materia Melder merchants who will attach Materia for a reasonable fee. If one cannot meld, another good option is to simply sell the Materia on the Market Boards for a nice profit.
