Reaper is one of the two new classes coming to Final Fantasy XIV upon Endwalker's release. Similar to the Dark Knight class in Final Fantasy XIVthe Reaper's visual appearance is dark and menacing. Players playing as a Reaper will be able to use the power of darkness to summon a ghastly avatar to fight by their side. It is a melee DPS job and uses a long two-handed scythe for combat.

However, players need to understand that the Reaper class isn't available from the start of the game. Much like the Machinist, or Astrologian in Final Fantasy XIV, players must fulfill specific requirements in order to unlock the Reaper. Players must remember that neither the Reaper class nor its questline will be accessible till Endwalker comes out on November 23, 2021. Until then, players should work on meeting the conditions necessary to play the new class. Continue reading to learn how to unlock the Reaper class in Final Fantasy XIV.

To unlock the Reaper class in Final Fantasy XIV, players must fulfill two prerequisites. The first is that players need to own the Endwalker expansion. While Final Fantasy XIV trial players can enjoy the base game of A Realm Reborn and Heavensward for free, Endwalker is not included in the trial's package. Go to Square Enix's official website to purchase/preorder Endwalker for $39.99 or $59.99 for the Collector's Edition.

The second requirement is that players must have a character whose Disciples of War/Magic job has reached Level 70. Keep in mind that this condition does not apply to Disciples of the Land/Hand jobs such as Botanist, Fisher, or Culinarian. Final Fantasy XIV players looking to play as a Reaper will only be able to do so if they have a Level 70+ job that can access Duties.

Those who wish to bypass the leveling process of a DoW/M job can purchase a "Tales of Adventure" boost from the Final Fantasy XIV Online Store. Boosts allow players to reach Level 70 for a particular job instantly for $25.00 each. However, players who play through the main story and previous expansions should have trouble getting to Level 70 and beyond.

After the player owns the Final Fantasy XIV Endwalker expansion, and has leveled one character class to Level 70, they can become a Reaper. After Endwalker releases, the Reaper's questline will be available in Ul'dah.
