How The Sage Job Class Works In FFXIV: Endwalker
The Sage is a new healer class in FFXIV. The job focuses on creating barriers and raising allies' defenses in combat. Sages will use projectile weapons called Nouliths, which hover around the player like magic missiles. Based on the trailer that was shown at Fan Fest 2021, it looks as if Alphinaud will be playing the Sage class as well once Endwalker releases.
From what fans have seen so far, Sage looks like a pretty promising new class. So far, there are only three healing classes in the game, so it's nice to finally have a fourth one included. It looks like Sage will function similarly to Astrologian, in that it will focus on healing and preventing the party from taking damage. Typically, new jobs factor into the main scenario as well, so it will be interesting to see how Sages play into FFXIV's story.
Endwalker is set to release in Fall 2021, and it will bring the current story of Final Fantasy 14 to an end. There's a lot of upcoming content in the expansion to get fans excited, and the new Sage job class looks very promising. For now, this is all that's been shown of the new job - although Square Enix will surely tease more as Endwalker's release date grows nearer.
