FIFA 21 is now available on both Xbox Series X/S and PS5. Even though the game is still on Xbox One and PS4, it has received some improvements for its current-gen version. The power of the Xbox Series X/S and PS5 allow EA to give FIFA 21 upgrades such as faster loading times, enhanced animation, and better-looking lighting and rendering. EA wants FIFA 21 to feel as realistic as possible as a virtual soccer alternative.

FIFA 21 is also available on next-gen consoles with dual entitlement, which means that players can download and play the game for free, as long as they had previously purchased the game on Xbox One or PS4. Players can do this up until the launch of FIFA 22, so they better act fast. Players will also be happy to know that their progress in FIFA 21's Ultimate Team mode will transfer across consoles. Unfortunately, progress from FIFA 21's Co-op Seasons, Pro Clubs, Career Mode, or Online Seasons will not be transferable.

All FIFA Ultimate Team progress will still be saved when switching back and forth. Along with cross-progression, FIFA 21 will also feature cross-generation multiplayer. This means PS4 players can play with PS5 players, and Xbox Series X/S can play with Xbox One players. However, Xbox Series X/S will not be able to play with PS5 or PS4 players, and vice versa.

PlayStation 5 PS5 Controller Haptic Feedback Explained

PS5 players will be able to experience FIFA 21 with haptic feedback from the new DualSense controllers. This allows players more realistic feedback, letting them sense the impact of tackles, passes, and shots that happen within the game. Xbox Series X/S will not receive this feature. This is the only feature that PS5 players will exclusively get to make the game feel more immersive.

EA has also announced that FIFA 21's audience visuals, audio, and animations will all be improved to make for a more dynamic feel. Realistic chants and updated animations bring a much better audio experience, improving the overall FIFA experience and atmosphere. An improved player interaction system will also give better physics when in a battle for possession, improving the jostling, pushing, and pulling in-game.
