The EA Play and Xbox Game Pass lineup will soon bring two of last year's biggest sports titles into the fold - FIFA 21 and NHL 21. While these games are only joining the EA Play service, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers get to take advantage of all EA Play offerings due to the two services joining forces last November.

Such a deal means Game Pass Ultimate members have access to every benefit afforded to EA Play subscribers. These benefits include a library boasting dozens of games, in addition to 10 percent discounts on EA digital purchases, in-game bonuses, and 10-hour trials for certain new EA-published titles. Evidently, the publisher is set on continuously expanding the service's various offerings by regularly bringing new experiences into the mix. Madden NFL 21 joined the lineup last month, for example; the month of March also brought Star Wars Squadrons to the EA Play library. The additions for this month and the next are exciting in their own right.

EA Play and Game Pass Ultimate subscribers on console will gain access to NHL 21 in the coming days on April 12, Electronic Arts announced in today's EA Play Spotlight post. Players can expect to enjoy every facet of the experience from the robust single-player offerings to the intensely competitive online modes. Moreover, FIFA 21 joins EA Play on an unspecified date in May, allowing players to explore the sports title in full, including its Career Mode and FIFA Ultimate Team co-op options.

A player makes a shot in NHL 21

Admittedly, two sports games joining the library within a few weeks of one another isn't exactly ideal for subscribers who may not have an interest in NHL or FIFA games. They're still relatively solid arrivals, though, given that neither title is even a year old.

Electronic Arts' streaming service experienced quite the major shift late last summer when the publisher decided to rebrand. EA Access and Origin Access were combined under a single banner - EA Play. Origin Access Premier remained a separate entity, but adopted the EA Play Pro name. The latter offering comes with everything included in the regular service, though Pro members get unlimited access to EA's latest titles as opposed to the 10-hour restriction.
