Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker will be receiving a new Deep Dungeon sometime within the 6.x patches, which begs the question: where will the new Deep Dungeon be located? Looking at the locations in FFXIV: Endwalker, two of the places where it would make the most sense for a new Deep Dungeon to take place would be in Garlemald or in Mare Lamentorum, also known as the Moon. Garlemald's Tower of Babil dungeon, formerly known as the Imperial Palace, still looms heavily over the snowy plains of Garlemald. Underneath the tower, the city's destruction remains lined with foes. Having a Deep Dungeon discovered within the Tower of Babil would be ideal considering its massive size, but it would also be nice to explore the city ruins of Garlemald even further.

[Warning: Spoilers for Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker follow.]

From the snowy hills of Garlemald to the busy markets of Radz-At-Han and at the edge of the universe in Ultima Thule, the locations and story in Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker's MSQ was pleasantly surprising. One small thing that further helps expand an area is the inclusion of a Deep Dungeon. Deep Dungeons are instances that feature unique gameplay mechanics where players clear a series of floors full of mobs and occasional bosses while managing status effects, additional abilities and actions, and chances at unique loot. Deep Dungeons are an excellent spot for players to level up their jobs. Currently, there are two Deep Dungeons: Palace of the Dead in South Shroud at Quarrymill, first introduced in A Realm Reborn, and Heaven-on-High, introduced in Stormblood and located in Crick at the Ruby Sea. Not only does the inclusion and return of FFXIV's Deep Dungeons offer extra lore for an area, but it also prompts more players to visit the zone.

The news surrounding this was announced at the FFXIV Korean Fan Festival this past weekend during a Q&A session with director and producer Naoki Yoshida (Yoshi-P) and battle content director Masaki Nakagawa. The Q&A session implied that there could be more than one being released, which would be different from the amount released in other expansions of Final Fantasy XIV. There were six new locations for players to explore in Endwalker, and having Deep Dungeons in Garlemald or Mare Lamentorum would be suitable.

Mare Lamentorum's Map Would Be An Excellent Spot For FFXIV Deep Dungeons

Home of the first trial of FFXIV: Endwalker and the resting place for Zodiark, Mare Lamentorum, otherwise known as the Moon, is vastly empty for its size. There are several places on Mare Lamentorum which would provide a good location for a Deep Dungeon, including the gaping Cradle of Darkness, which is where Zodiark once stood. The potential for players to be able to explore the vastness of the gaping hole left by the primal could even provide more potential lore on The Watcher character, Elidibus, and The Ancients that were trapped there. Other places in Mare Lamentorum that could be explored are the remnants of the Allagan ship that crashed into Mare Lamentorum after the most recent Calamity, or even locations that could be off of the base of Mare Lamentorum's massive map.

There are many potential places where a new Deep Dungeon in Endwalker could be, and having a Deep Dungeon located in Garlemald or on Mare Lamentorum would provide players with an additional reason to visit the two zones since FFXIV's endgame remains sparse. Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker could benefit from the extra content and additional story tidbits that Deep Dungeons could potentially solve.
