Heavensturn is an annual festival for the New Year held in Final Fantasy XIV, it has an emphasis on eastern traditions of festivity, and typically takes place from December 31 to Mid January. Adventurers can acquire rewards pertaining to the event's theme from completing various activities. The host of the quests changes and represents different creatures for the year. Like all the other annual events, each city-state is decorated for the festivities. Heavensturn will be returning to FFXIV in January 2022, featuring quests and rewards for the Year of the Tiger.

FFXIV's annual events give players the opportunity to take a break from their normal adventures and experience fun, limited stories. Exclusive items can also be earned every year, with ox-themed rewards being obtained in Heavensturn 2021. Previous festivals celebrated the Year of the Rabbit, Dragon, Horse, Sheep, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, Pig, and Rat. The event has occurred annually since 2011, only skipping 2013 during the game's transition period to A Realm Reborn in the same year. To get a headstart on the Heavensturn questline, here are all the details regarding the festival in 2022.

Information about the event was posted on The Lodestone on December 24. According to the website, the subtitle for the festival this year is "Eye of the Tiger, Thrill of Adventure." To begin the Heavensturn 2022 questline in FFXIV, players must first head to Limsa Lominsa, Upper Decks (X: 11.5, Y: 13.9), and speak to Tora Bugyo. Adventurers need to have a Disciple of Magic or War at level 15 to participate. Due to the delay in the release of FFXIV Endwalker, the Heavensturn event was pushed back to January 5, 2022, through January 19, 2022. The first mission is called "Tangled with a Tora." Just like the name implies, adventurers will need to fight tigers to complete the FATE "Tora! Tora! Tora!" After completing the quest, players must return to Tora Bugyo to receive EXP, Gil, and Heavensturn tickets. In past iterations of the festival, these tickets were used to exchange for items obtained in previous versions of the event.

The Heavensturn 2022 festival in FFXIV is a celebration of The Twelve watching over Eorzea for the coming year. These celestial beings are represented each year in the Far East by a creature that takes the place of a chosen member of The Twelve. The beasts constitute the theme for each new version of the festival. This event has the significance of marking which member of The Twelve will be watching all of creation across the realm.

Heavensturn is an important annual event in FFXIV and allows all players to celebrate the new year in Eorzea. Due to the pandemic, everyone across the globe is having a tough time in 2021, the Year of the Ox, and hopefully, 2022, the Year of the Tiger, will be better for all. This festival will be a time for fans to usher in a new year and celebrate new life with tiger-themed rewards for Heavensward 2022 in Final Fantasy XIV.
