While Final Fantasy XIV's engaging stories and characters are central to its appeal, Glamouring is what transcendentally embodies its fashion-driven community. Glamours are the Transmogs of Final Fantasy XIV, and Glamour Prisms are the objects necessary to modify a player character's gear. Subsequently, FFXIV players who wish to design a distinct look for roleplaying or fashion purposes will need plenty of Glamour Prisms to move forward in their endeavors. Before players learn how to get Glamour Prisms in FFXIV, they must first unlock the ability to use them.

To unlock the ability to use Glamour Prisms in FFXIV, players can speak to either Swyrgeim in Western Thanalan at X:12.6, Y:14.3, or Wiscard in Mor Dhona at X:22.1, Y:6.7. Once their Level 15 quest has been completed, players will be able to modify the appearance of their best equipment in Final Fantasy XIV. The quest-givers will grant players 12 Glamour Prisms to get them started. However, this amount will not be enough for those players who wish to restyle their attire frequently.

There are three primary ways players can get Glamour Prisms in Final Fantasy XIV. The first and most straightforward way is purchasing them from other players via the Market Board, and, while this method is likely to be the most convenient, it is also the most expensive. Depending on the server, players may need upward of tens of thousands of Gil, as traders often sell prisms in bulk. However, if players can efficiently farm Gil in Final Fantasy XIV, obtaining Glamour Prisms from the Market Board shouldn't be an issue.

Another way to get Glamour Prisms in FFXIV is by buying them from one's Grand Company. After reaching the rank of Chief Sergeant, Glamour Prisms will become available to purchase for 200 Seals per prism. This option is an excellent choice for those with extra Seals to spend; however, players can buy potentially more valuable items from their Grand Company in Final Fantasy XIV, such as rare crafting materials.

The third and most cost-effective method of getting Glamour Prisms is through crafting. To craft a prism, players must complete the quest "Absolutely Glamourous" from Swyrgeim or "Submission Impossible" from Wiscard. While the materials required to make a Glamour Prism will vary between crafting jobs, every recipe requires a Clear Prism. Players earn these from quests and Dungeons, or they can conveniently buy them from Tataroga in Mor Dhona at X:22, Y:7, or Goberin in Western Thanalan at X:12, Y:15 for 200 Gil each. Additionally, each job's Glamour Prism Master Recipe must be purchased for 300 Gil from either Tataroga or Goberin. Through crafting, players can have a steady, less expensive stream of Glamour Prisms to transmog their gear as often as they prefer.
