Fenrir, the monstrous wolf in Norse mythology, makes an appearance in Final Fantasy XIV as the end boss of the Snowcloak Dungeon, and also as a magnificent, rideable Mount. While there are other rare wolf Mounts, such as the Kamuy collection, in Final Fantasy XIV, Fenrir comes as a one-of-a-kind standalone Mount that can only be unlocked with MGP, or Manderville Gold Saucer Points. MGP is the special currency exclusive to the Gold Saucer, the fun-filled arcade zone in Final Fantasy XIV. While it is the only place where MGP can be spent, it isn't the only area where players can earn MGP.

Newer players coming into the game who wish to unlock Fenrir will first need to gain access to the Gold Saucer in Final Fantasy XIV. To do so, players must have completed the Level 15 main story quest, "The Gridanian Envoy," "The Ul'dahn Envoy," or "The Lominsan Envoy," depending on the players' starting zone. Player characters can speak to the Well-Heeled Youth at X: 9.6, Y: 9.0 in Ul'dah – Steps of Nald to go to the Gold Saucer. Once they arrive, they can begin farming for the Fenrir Mount.

Players can buy the Fenrir Mount from the Gold Saucer Attendant (Prize Claim) NPC for 1,000,000 MGP. This Mount is one of the more expensive prizes FFXIV players can obtain with MGP, but, with some effort and dedication, unlocking Fenrir is less difficult than players might assume.

The most straightforward way to farm MGP for the Fenrir Mount in FFXIV is by completing the weekly Challenge Logs in the Gold Saucer. Many of these low-effort activities can be completed relatively quickly. For example, playing Lord of Verminion nine times against an AI while AFK will net players a free 27,000 MGP.

Another simple way of earning MGP while also completing game content is Wondrous Tails. Wondrous Tails is a cute, RNG-based bingo mini-game that players can participate in by doing certain Dungeons, Trials, or Raids. The weekly rewards will often be MGP Gold or Platinum Card, which can be consumed to instantly gain 30,000 or 50,000 MGP, respectively.

Another way to work toward buying the FFXIV Fenrir Mount is by partaking in the Moogle Treasure Trove Event. Until Endwalker's release, FFXIV players can earn Irregular Tomestones of Lore. Players can buy MGP Platinum Cards for 30 Tomestones each. If players grind The Binding Coil of Bahamut - Turn 2 for an hour, they can earn approximately 36 Tomestones an hour, depending on the queue wait. If players repeat this farming method for 20 total hours, they will have enough Tomestones to convert into MGP and purchase the Fenrir Mount in Final Fantasy XIV.
