AMC has released a new trailer for Fear the Walking Dead season 6, confirming the show will return in October. It had originally been the plan for Fear season 6 to release this summer, but given how the coronavirus pandemic led to the delay of both The Walking Dead season 10 finale and the premiere of another spinoff, The Walking Dead: World Beyond, it isn't too surprising to learn that Fear season 6 is also delayed.

As a spinoff of The Walking Dead, Fear began a little differently from its parent show by setting its story during the earliest days of the outbreak. After a few seasons and several changes in the cast, however, Fear began to more closely resemble the main show, and in season 4, even gained a new character, Morgan, a direct transplant from The Walking Dead. Fear season 5 left off with Morgan in a precarious situation and his fate is unknown, but this new trailer for Fear season 6 promises to reveal if and how Morgan survives.

During Fear the Walking Dead's virtual panel for Comic-Con@Home, a new trailer for season 6 was released. Along with teasing the upcoming season, the trailer confirmed that Fear season 6 will now premiere on October 11. Check out the new SDCC trailer for Fear the Walking Dead season 6 below:

For the most part, this Fear the Walking Dead season 6 trailer is the same as the trailer released earlier in the year. What's new is the extended footage of the man in the cowboy hat and the explanation that he's been hired by Virginia to track down Morgan. That detail seemingly confirms Morgan is still alive come Fear season 6 even though he was last seen with a bullet hole in his chest and a group of walkers on their way towards him. And if that's so, then Morgan is clearly the recipient of another of Walking Dead's miraculous, last-minute survivals.

Then again, this trailer also includes shots of Morgan with bright red eyes and those seem to hint at him undergoing some kind of transformation. Could it be Fear actually lets Morgan die and turn into a walker in the season 6 premiere? That would certainly be a shocking way to kick off the season and not entirely out of the question for a Walking Dead show. But besides the shock value, there doesn't seem to be much point in Fear season 6 killing off Morgan, so we can only hope that isn't the direction the spinoff plans to take.
