In a world like the one portrayed on Fear the Walking Dead, which just finished its seventh season and confirmed the departure of Alycia Debnam-Carey who plays Alicia, few who have survived as long as the people in the main group have been able to do it on their own.

Survival means power in numbers and banding together to fight common enemies. In the case of this show, those enemies are often the walking undead. But there are enemies even more sinister as well. That requires some serious friendships, often between two people who always know they have one another's backs.

Daniel And Skidmark

For a period of time, Daniel was roughing it on his own. The only things by his side were records, a turntable, and a pet cat he named Skidmark. Daniel became so close to Skidmark that he was even willing to risk his own life for the feline friend.

It makes sense that, while living in solitude, Daniel would look for comfort anywhere he could. Daniel not only spent time listening to music with Skidmark while inside his shelter, he took the cat with him wherever he went, sourced food for it, and gave it love and attention. And Skidmark provided love and comfort in kind.

Morgan And Madison

It's a fresh friendship and one that got off to a rocky start when some of the Reddit theories about how Madison would return to Fear the Walking Dead were confirmed. Madison and Morgan finally met and tattoos of her kids' names on her wrists tipped Morgan off as to her real identity.

While at first, their relationship was purely transactional, all about survival, they soon bonded out of necessity. Madison felt she was "already gone" given all of the horrible things she had been doing. But she believed Morgan was not and agreed to help him get his daughter back. Fans expect the friendship to continue to flourish between these two given that Morgan has so much he can tell Madison about the time she lost with Nick and Alicia while she has so much to tell him about who they were before.

Sarah And Wendell

Sarah and Wendell were brother and sister who stayed with one another through thick and thin. Sarah always stood up for her brother, pushing back when he was rejected by the Marines because he was in a wheelchair. She would never let anyone talk badly about him, and he did the same for her.

There was tremendous pain in Sarah's eyes when she was separated from her brother and didn't know if he was dead or alive. She searched frantically to find him, no matter what condition he might be in. This was juxtaposed by the joy when she discovered that he was alive, well, and in Victor's tower. It proved just how unwavering their bond was.

Althea And Dwight

Althea and Dwight – two of the best characters introduced after season 1 of Fear the Walking Dead - were unlikely allies who began working more closely together once Virginia paired them up. They went on a variety of missions together and worked so well, it was like they had been partners for decades.

They were both willing to sacrifice themselves for the other, and respected the decisions each other made. Althea was happy to help Dwight find Sherry while Dwight was all for Althea going out on her own to find her lost love. They had a lovely, sibling-like relationship that flourished in a short amount of time.

Luciana And Daniel

The friendship between Luciana and Daniel wasn't fully realized until Daniel's mental state began to deteriorate, and he was showing signs of dementia or Alzheimer's. She worked closely with him to help him regain memories and cognitive functions. Meanwhile, he viewed her like a daughter, even though he made it clear that she could never replace Ophelia.

Fans weren't impressed with the lie Luciana told to get Daniel to help them storm the tower. But once he found out, he understood that it was in everyone's best interests and she wasn't trying to hurt him. The fact that they both speak Spanish also gives them another level on which to communicate, speaking in their native tongues.

Morgan And John

From the moment John pulled out a candy to hand it to Morgan, they were destined to be friends. Their friendship grew from there as John helped pull Morgan out of his mental funk and Morgan realized just what a good and honorable man John was.

John became the new Rick for Morgan, and together, they worked well leading the group. When John found himself in a similar mental health crisis as Morgan had been when they met, Morgan tried to return the favor and help his now best friend get through it. They complemented one another well.

Daniel And Charlie

Before Daniel became close with Luciana, he forged a bond with Charlie. They enjoyed one another's company, doing mundane things like listening to music together and even learning to play instruments. Charlie viewed Daniel like a father figure, perhaps even grandfather. Their relationship was also, in some ways, a mentor-mentee-type one, with Daniel helping Charlie gain her confidence.

When she was on her deathbed, Daniel decided to sit by Charlie's side, hold her hand, and be there for her. It clearly meant the world to the young woman who lost her parents in the apocalypse along with other parental figures in her life after that, such as Melvin, Ennis, and even John Dorie.

Victor And Madison

Victor and Madison were forced together by circumstance when they happened upon one another right when the apocalypse hit. They had to rely on one another for survival so had no other choice but to trust each other.

As time went on, however, the typically guarded Victor, who is one-half of a few of the longest-running rivalries on The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead, started to let down his walls around Madison. He didn't respect most people but he respected her. They shared drinks and conversations together, as well as intimate details about their feelings and lives. It was obvious that if there was anyone who could convince Victor to do anything, it was Madison. Fans are excited about her return to the show to see how that dynamic continues.

John Dorie Sr. And June

June was understandably grief-stricken after losing John Dorie. When she came upon an older man in a camper van, it seemed like fate that he was John Dorie Sr., John's father and her father-in-law.

The pair were initially unsure of how to act around one another. But over time, after going through being alone in a bunker following a nuclear event and John Dorie Sr.'s withdrawal from alcohol addiction, they quickly became a dynamic duo. June was able to tell John stories about his son as an adult while John recalled his regrets about abandoning his son. They looked out for one another until the end, both trying their best to do right by John Dorie.

Victor And Alicia

In the penultimate episode, Alicia – one of the bravest characters on Fear the Walking Dead - was on the brink of death. Hallucinating, she was seeing herself as a young girl and this conscience was urging her to help Victor as her final valiant effort. This was not only because she cared for him but also because she knew he might be the only hope the others had for survival and leadership.

Her final words were declaring her love for Victor, which had the normally stoic man in tears. Theirs was a pure friendship, resembling a father-daughter bond. Like her mother, Alicia made Victor see that he could be a better version of himself, and he was constantly trying to prove to her that he could. Meanwhile, she held him in high regard, accepting his faults and having faith that there was goodness in him, even when he made bad decisions. No matter what side of a fight they were on, Victor and Alicia always managed to find their way back to one another.
