Fear the Walking Dead season 5, episode 7 picks up where last week's episode left off with Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey) as determined as ever to save the children from disaster. The return of the radioactive zombies, helping the children, and the race to fix the plane has put many of the people in Morgan's group in grave danger.

In the previous episode, titled "The Little Prince", Alicia tried and failed to convince the children to remain at the truck stop until the plane was repaired. After the children left, Alicia set off on her own to find them. Also, their plan to fix the plane hit another setback when the propellers were destroyed, forcing Strand (Colman Domingo) and Charlie (Alexa Nisenson) to use a hot air balloon shaped like a beer bottle to go look for more. When the hot air balloon crashed, the two were surrounded by radioactive zombies. Meanwhile, John (Garrett Dillahunt) discovered that Dwight's wife no longer wants to be found, but decided to keep this a secret from Dwight.

An exclusive clip from the next episode, "Still Standing," reveals that Alicia is able to find the children. However, her problems don't end there. The kids are trapped and are in imminent danger, and Alicia assures the kids that she can help them against the zombies, buying them some time so they can escape. Since the clip begins with Annie in possession of Alicia's weapons, it appears that the children succeed in disarming Alicia at some point in the episode.

The clip indicates that Alicia has managed to obtain some degree of trust from Max, Dylan, and particularly Annie, who have been wary of other survivors since the beginning of the season. So far, the children have been an important plot point of season 5. Earlier, it was revealed that they were the ones responsible for the zombie barricades. They even engineered a ploy to spy on Morgan's group. Without the guidance of any adults, the children have demonstrated an impressive amount of ingenuity and independence while surviving the zombie apocalypse.

Since they all seem to listen to Annie, it's possible that Alicia rescuing them from the zombies will turn things around. If Annie starts to trust Alicia, the rest will follow suit if she decides they should all leave together on the plane. Having a large group of children around on a more permanent basis could be a game-changer, so it's difficult to say how this situation will be resolved.
