Sunday's episode of Fear the Walking Dead introduces a new character to the show, and leaves some big questions behind. While looking for a new place to call home, Charlie (Alexa Nisenson) meets Jacob (Peter Jacobson), a rabbi who has lost his faith.

The latest episode of Fear The Walking Dead focuses on Charlie, who hasn't had a prominent role in recent episodes. Charlie quickly grows fond of Jacob after encountering him outside his church. Charlie believes that his church can be a new base for their group, but June (Jenna Elfman) is opposed to the idea. Their disagreement is eventually settled when zombies attack, and force both Charlie and Jacob to abandon the church.

Meanwhile, Sarah (Mo Collins) and Dwight (Austin Amelio) have a problem of their own. The two are being chased by a group led by Rollie, the man who Dwight allowed to escape. When John (Garrett Dillahunt) and June return with the SWAT truck, Rollie and the others drive away. Though it appears that they were scared off, it's revealed that it was all a distraction so that Logan (Matt Frewer) could get to the oilfields. Here are the questions from Fear the Walking Dead season 5, episode 12, "Ner Tamid".

Is Jacob Joining The Group?

At SDCC 2019, it was confirmed that Peter Jacobson would join FTWD's cast in the back half of season 5. This episode finally reveals Jacobson's character, a rabbi who slowly stopped believing in God. Though Jacob is no longer a believer, he stills prays regularly in order to hold on to his past life. Jacob tells the other members of the group at the end of the episode that's he going to start looking for a sign again, though it's not clear if Jacob means that he's staying with Morgan's group or going off on his own.

How Did Logan Find The Oilfields?

In the final scene, Rollie's efforts to distract the others pays off as Logan and Doris reach a quarry, which appears to be the location of the oilfields. Some of Al's tapes are seen in the car, which suggests that Logan was right about one of them giving away a clue in Al's interviews. Since it seems unlikely that anyone among Morgan's group would mention its location, how did Logan uncover the truth?

What Will Happen If Logan Gets The Oil?

One of the main objectives for the characters in the back half of season 5 has been to stop Logan and his crew from finding Polar Bear's oilfields. While Logan did drop a few teases in last week's Fear The Walking Dead about what he hopes to achieve with them in his last conversation with Morgan, his real endgame remains a secret. If Logan is about to get his wish, that question may soon be answered.

When Will Morgan's Group Find A New Home?

Morgan and the others have been on the move for quite a while. Since they have no base, they've been driving around in a convoy and sleeping outside at night. Charlie's frustration with their situation and the similarities between their way of living and the Scavengers, is what led her to go scouting for a new place to call home. They didn't find it in this episode, but it's possible that a better, more defensible location will be found in the weeks to come. It'll be sorely needed if the conflict with Logan's crew is about to come to a head in Fear The Walking Dead season 5.
