Netflix's new trilogy of horror continues with Fear Street Part 2: 1978 — here's a guide to the cast of new and returning characters. Inspired by R.L. Stine's popular novels, director and co-writer Leigh Janiak brings the saga to the screen for a trilogy of Fear Street movies. Telling one killer story across three distinct chapters, each movie explores an era within the twisted history of Shadyside. In the process, each chapter homages a different genre of horror.

Fear Street Part 1: 1994 channels such classic 90s teen slasher movies as Scream, with a splash of supernatural elements akin Stephen King's It. After a clash with some of the affluent residents of Sunnyvale, a group of teens from the wrong side of the tracks (a.k.a. Shadyside) find themselves hunted by malevolent forces. Though some tragically lose their lives, a trio make it through the horrific night. Unfortunately, a final sting in the tail reveals the survivors to be far from out of the woods yet — with many questions left unanswered by Fear Street Part 1: 1994 and a cliffhanger directly setting up the highly-anticipated second installment.

With Janiak once again directing and co-writing (alongside Zak Olkewicz), Fear Street Part 2: 1978 picks up where things left off. As Deena (Kiana Madeira) and Josh (Benjamin Flores Jr.) seek answers regarding the ongoing nightmare, the action flashes back to the traumatic events that befell Camp Nightwing in 1978. Taking its cues from the earlier Friday the 13th movies, Fear Street Part 2: 1978 centers on a massacre perpetrated by the Nightwing Killer, an axe-wielding maniac also possessed by an ancient and vengeful witch: Sarah Fier (Elizabeth Scopel). It's a massacre from which the reclusive C. Berman (Gillian Jacobs) miraculously survived but her sister (and several others) tragically didn't. As the prequel story unfolds, fresh light is shed on the wider Shadyside curse. Here's a breakdown of the new and returning characters in Fear Street Part 2: 1978 and where you may know each of the actors from.
